Anyways, I have to trips to GAm in the next week, and I have plans to use it. I think it's a good Idea, but I heard you still have to wait about 10 minutes to go on. Is that true?

The only experience I have with this type of system is at WDW, and the success seemed to depend on the op running the line. Sometimes, they would let only people with Fastpasses through for a long time and leave the regular line stopped, or vice versa. However, most of the time it worked well, I found little wrong with it.

However, instead of charging for it, I wish that they were only available to certain guests, such as season pass holders, just as the Disney system is only for people staying at the Disney resorts.

However, I will still go to SFGAm and I am sure I will still have an excellent time, just like always. I really don't mind waiting as long as I'm with someone to talk to.

I saw it in use, it's no big deal. They let people cut in line on the stairway by entrances. They don't let you choose your seat. You wait in line at the station like everyone else. I saw the same amount of people using FastLane as I see using exit passess. I saw some people using it on a Raging Bull line when it was 20 minutes long. I wanted to laugh, because they paid money to wait 10 minutes less. But hey, Time is money! LOL

Well, I'm not exactly thrilled about Fast Lane, but many of you are going way over the edge about it. There are only a limited number of them sold each day, and I believe only 2 Fast Lane guests are admitted per every 10 guests waiting in line. And it's not like there are always 2 guests admitted per every 10 either. So far, the longest Fast Lane line I've yet to see has been a whopping 3 people, therefore, does not have too big of an impact on the regular line.

I took advantage of the $40 season pass deal at SFKK and also went to SFA so I will go to SFGAm this summer and buy a exit pass for ten bucks. No big deal, line jumping slows down lines more.

It sure seems like these sorts of systems make people really mad... or makes them over-react.

It's simply a supply and demand thing. There's a demand for people willing to pay more to utilize the fastlane so the park is supplying the product. Some people think it's the park being greedy, but what if the same system were set up with the money going to charity? It's the same system, and people are willing to pay. In a sense, it does lead to escalation because if everyone pays for it nobody is better off. They should offer a $1000 VIP pass that gets you the front seat of every coaster with no waiting, and you can stay on the train if you want for re-rides. What if the park reversed the idea by instead of offering the fastlane simply had a special admission price of half-off, but you always had to wait in the 'slow' queue? Would that seem less insidious?

I like seeing the different ideas parks come up with for these sorts of things.

The tricky part is how to set the prices for the extra benefits.
