FASTPASS Now @ SFGAm..... :-/

For some of you this may be a good thing..... for some it may not.

But this past Sunday, Great America adopted the idea of using a 'fastpass' system. The way it works: Fastpasses go on sale 4 for $10. 1 pass= 1 'exit pass' on a coaster. Take this the way you want. But I'm pretty sure that I will use this when DV opens, and that would be the only times. I don't know how this will effect my home park, and I hope it doesn't result in a disaster.
Wait, since when did they start using this? It actually does help thin the crowds, but I'd rather the park not use it.

I really dont like the idea, it may reduce line size but then you really dont know how long the lines really are. I just think that its unfair for people .
Ten bucks for a just one pass? Man, that is kinda steep!

He said $10 for 4 passes. Are you sure this is correct? To me its just another way of raking in some more cash. With the way this park gets crowded, I dont think this is going to work.

I dont think so either. If you think about it, thats not right. Even though people are paying for them, its still not right. And most are going to use it on V2 or Dv, and thats always gonna be the front row, like the handicapped. But its going to be a mess! if I get one, itll be for V2 and Dv, I think most would do the same. But its not going to work out . Both lines will get long, and it would take longer to get on the ride.
It doesn't work, and I'm ragging on the Express Pass system at IOA. That one is free when you have Multi-Day tickets, and uses Kiosk machines with long lines. But the machines don't read the tickets, then they shut down by noon, it's a mess.

Then when you're waiting in the regular line, it crawls, because the Express people are merging into your line near the loading platform.

When you enter a park and pay your admission price, that's supposed to cover the rides (excluding sky coasters and rock climbing). Now they've found a new way to Charge people if they want to get on the rides during peak times.

I can't believe what I'm reading above. Pretty soon, you'll find long lines streatching out the exit of the rides, and the regular line won't move.

This is happening at IOA, everyone booked their hotels because of FOTL (Front of the Line), and now they're having to scale it back because there are long lines for FOTL, so they can't call it that anymore.

And imagine what happens if a guy brings a GF (girl friend). The price doubles, and he would probably have to do it twice to spoil her. Better yet, think of a family with whining kids, the father will have to shell out big time.

One line, everyone is equal, everyone waits the same.

$10 bucks for 4 rides not up the exit. More like at turnaround gates. At Raging Bull the Fastpass entrance is where the Raging Bull crew collects tickets from Boarding Passes, Giant Drop is up the exit, V2 is at the entrance which will take you to the stairs.

I will be using this when Deja Vu opens as well, the line is going to get totally crazy.

Now this is classism pure and simple...

It is one thing at like Disney where anyone can get a FastPass, you just have to get there early. And it's even better @ SFA where anyone could get a pass AND they are limited to a specific row.

But being able to BUY your way to the front of the line? That is unfair to the fullest. I just paid forty buck to get into the park now you want me to pay more just to get around everybody? I aint doin' it.

But the real tragedy comes because some people *WILL* do it. And that will only make the lines longer for those "have nots". Oh you all know how much I love SFGAm, but this is one move that I hope bites them in the ass..real...REAL hard!

An SFBrat who is resigned to the fact that the world is filled with Six Flags Haters....it's tragic that they waste their lives like that
yea i can say i am not happy about this at all. like they dont make enough money they have to rape us another way. well the hell with them.
I was there yesterday. This really, really made me mad. I can't beleive they charge you to use it. What a bunch of greedy bastards. It isn't enough that you pay $40, now you have to pay $50 or suffer. But the thing that really pisses me off is something a ride op said yesterday. My friend asked if he could fill an empty seat on Shockwave. The guy said no, because it makes the people waiting mad. Now think, if you are waiting in lne, what makes you more mad: Somebody filling a seat that will not be used anyway or someone going in front of you and taking a seat that you would have sat in? If you ask me, I say I could care less if someone fills a seat. I does not affect how long I wait in line. But this Fastlane thing really pisses me of. I suppose Six Flags' next thing will be ride again passes, $10 for 4. I complained about Fastlane yesterday, hopefully they will get enough so that they either make it free or take it away.

Leave it to Six Flags to come up with another brilliant idea. Yeah, a class war among riders. Its all we need to cut down on waiting for the haves and increase the time for the have-nots. Six Flags is going to Hell as fast as any coaster can go, only quicker.
If you happened to be one of us that paid $40 for their season pass by traveling to SFKK or SFWOA this isn't a bad deal. Say you go on a Saturday when the lines are stretched out to Bumbleland, I would rather pay the $10 to ride Deja Vu instead of waiting 2 - 3 hours. Yes I agree that this is another way to rip people off, but if their are people willing to pay for the service more power to them. Like I said on a Saturday this would be a major plus.

After reading this and speaking with the park public relations, they seem to think that people will not get upset because someone has PAID to go in line before them........WRONG!

This issue really upsets me. Fine if they want to add upcharge attractions, everyone who does them pays the same price, waits the same time, etc, and are not included in the admission. But when you start charging extra to get special priveleges on the rides that EVERYONE has paid for. This is nothing but GREED taking completely over. We pay to park, pay way too much for food, etc, now we have to pay to ride rides that we have already paid for or wait longer?

The park also babbled off some line of crap that this will not increase wait time, while in the same babbling they said a section of the train would be marked off for these ticket holders. Decreased capacity to the general public means more wait time, unless you pay!

We were planning our first trip to this park, but seeing how they are instituting this, trip cancelled!
yea im gonna stop going since they are doing this. this is unbeliveable. i have more and more trips to this park where i am unhappy when i leave. i love this park but it seems they are ruining it.
10 bucks? at SFA the fast lane passes are free,I've used it and I think it's a pretty good idea.
Chill out people, this could end up like the notorious FastPass system at Cedar Point last year.
those of you who are canceling trips to sfgam because of fast pass are going to be missing alot. don't let a few bad ideas or people with money ruin your vacation. and think of it this way: the money from fast pass means more revenue which means more rides at gam and at other sf parks! I agree that the fast pass is a bad idea, but it will fade out if enough people complain. I personally like the IOA idea of letting people in early. that doesn't affect regular crowds and still lets people skip through the lines. one thing that GAm should incorporate is the single rider lane. that gives the rides a higher capacity and shortens the lines.

I think a lot of you have the wrong impression of SFGAm's system, particularly "super7" who assumed rows were being blocked off on coasters, which is certainly not the case here. Experience the system in the flesh first, then comment on it later. I'll hold my comments about it.

And don't always believe what you read on Coasterbuzz.
