Using only PVC pipes, treated lumber and concrete, YouTube user makethesale1 has raised the bar for backyard fun by building a 12-foot-high personal roller-coaster for his family.

The construction on that looks quite good. The capacity sucks, though. It probably should be an upcharge.

I've seen a number of videos of backyard coasters, and that has to be the STURDIEST looking one of the bunch.
The little girl's having a blast. And why shouldn't she? It's more fun than Dark Knight.

PVC does not seem like a good material for track rails. When it does break, I would assume it would make sharp pieces.

I'm curious as to why this particular coaster/video has gotten so much media play. There's dozens of these around the country. As I previously mentioned, this one is very well done. But it's been featured on Yahoo, CNN, and five separate (non-coaster enthusiast) friends have either sent me the link or made me aware of it.
