Shuttle Loopers, how many are left?

I was just curious as to how many of these coasters are left in the U.S.? The only one that I can think of is Viper at SFoG which used to be the Tidal Wave at SFGAm (Man, do I miss that ride!) Schwartkopf did a great job on this ride back then. I just checked PGA information and the other shuttle looper that I know of is Greased Lightnin (Formerly named Tidal Wave). *** This post was edited by Chitown on 7/9/2000. ***

In Angola, Indiana, there is one called Afterburner. The park is called Fun Spot. The last time I was on it, I was like 10-11. I thought it was cool because I liked roller coasters, and it went backwards. The ride ops were dumb because they would let us re-ride even if no one else was on the loading platform. This sucked because we had to run down 5 flights of stairs and then up again.

Knotts Berry Farm still has Montazooma's Revenge. It's a flywheel-launched Schwarzkopf ride. There is also one at Elitchs in Denver. It's either a Arrow or a Vekoma.

A good shuttle loop is at Great America. The have a ride called Grease Lightin'. It is really cool.

Camden Park, Huntington, West Virginia, has one. They bought it from King's Island.

Greezed Lightnin' at SFAstroworld,TX. It's a Schwarzkopf as well.

Wow, there are more out there today than I thought. I really was disappointed when SFGAm took it out but on the plus side they replaced it with the first inverted.

So I wasn't dreaming when I thought I saw pictures of one at SFGAm. No wonder I couldn't find it!

I seem to recall that Kennywood's Laser Loop went to a park in Mexico. Anybody out there know where?

I was to Camden park earlier this year the shuttle looper was down for refurbishing. Good News though!!! there was a sign saying it will reopen in 2002!

Where did the Python go? It was at Adventure World (SFA) but was removed (I suppose for Two-Face, good choice =]). It was much like the old 'Screamin' Demon' at Kings Island, with the six flights of stairs yada, yada, yada.

P.S. Remember all the boomerangs and invertigos are shuttle loopers too....

I might be wrong but isnt Speed the Ride considered a form of a shuttle looper.

Paramount's Carowinds in Charlotte North Carolina had one a long time ago. It was called White Lightning (for good reason to!). I just found out that it was bought by a theme park in South Africa and moved there shortly after it was torn down. That's one more in the world.

There is another one from Schwarzkopf
It is in Belgium in the theme park Walibi WAvre which is rumoured to become Six Flags Belgium in 2001. It once was called Scorpion but in 1997(?) it got stuck in the looping and was rethemed for the next season. It is now the Turbine with an enclosed looping.

The shuttle-looper in Angola, IN is a 1st Gen Arrow. There is also one of these at Frontier City in OKC, OK.

SFGAdv had the Lighting Loops duo which were removed for the construction of Batman in (I think) 1993. I believe one or both of these may have been moved to another park.

Speaking of Lightning Loops, I remember hearing stories about a woman who died on this by falling out of the train. Any truth to that?

The woman slid out of the harness and was killed on the track....USER = MORONS

A long time ago, Kings Dominion had the "King Cobra". Where did it go? I can't find anything on it at all.

The best one of course is Greezed Lightnin at Six Flags Astroworld in Houston,TX which was by Schwarzkoph.
