Under-rated, little known coasters
Dawg Byte, you took the words right out of my mouth!!! silver comet and dragon mountain are both great coasters.
I have never ridden the original comet but i have heard the first drop of the silver comet is similar to that of the comet.
The reason they named it the silver comet is because a long time ago, when Fantasy Island was under other management (and was called Two Flags over Niagara), they had the original comet in storage next to the Lazy River. It sat there doing nothing for a couple years, then the Great Escape park bought it. When Martin DePietro bought Fantasy Island, he re-named it Martin's Fantasy Island and decided it was a big mistake for the comet to not be built at fantasy island. So he tried to get people to build a new one....

I`d have to agree with John Peck. The Tornado at Stricker`s Grove is under-rated and little known. One main reason is that Stricker`s Grove is a private family run park. The Tornado was built by Ralph Stricker, and usually costs $1.50 to ride. It is well worth it as it provides some excellent air, and I mean some serious air. I have been priveleged enough ot have riden it more than fourty times for free and it is one fun coaster!

It's the coaster that opened my eyes to the fun of coasters while still being a thrilling ride for an old twister design. The DRagon Coaster in Rye Playland in NY.
It's got one of the coolest theming element I've seen (especially considering it was built in 1929 according to the db here), a tunnel in the shape of a dragon (wraps around the entire turn) and you go right up into the mouth. Very cool. I haven't been there in far too long, come to think of it.

The tig'rr rollercoaster at indiana beach. This ride has never been mention on any forum I have ever been to. IT is a small , restraintless coaster built on top of a restraunt. This ride gives me the spooks every time I ride it. On the drops you rise out of your seats which is the freakiest think I have ever experience do to the fact there is nothing to hold you in. Also the amount of g's the ride puts on you at the helixes is crazy!

I think a coaster that is under rated is the High Roller at the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. It is the highest roller coaster in the world. Even though it isn't fast, long, or tall, it still scared me each time I rode it. It had a couple unexpected drops and felt a little out of control when there is a lot of wind.

I thought the CCI coaster "Hurricane" at the Myrtle Beach Pavillion was a blast -- nice drop and really fun laterals on the helix.
I also love the Cannonball at Lake Winnepesauka near Chattanooga, TN. It's a 70', John Allen/PTC out and back opened in 1967. It's a very re-ridable coaster with nice airtime and a great head chopper as you come back into the station.

CLP Blue Streak! It's got all of the classic elements. A dark tunnel to start off to get everyone excited. Then a slow click-clack lift hill. Then 3 incredible eject-you-from-the-train drops. Tons of laterals in the turnaround. Good run of bunny hops back into the station. Another cool thing is there is a catwalk on only one side of the track, creating a sense of unsafe openness. Plus the wait in the station is entertaining because of the map of the ride with light bulbs to track the course of the train and a bell when it returns.
Go ride it, and keep this park alive and this gem running!
