I'm wondering, what do you think the most under-rated coaster at a small, falmily owned park is? I really don't want to hear something like "Viper @ SFGAm" or "Revolution @ SFMM" because those are big, well known, corporate parks.
I want to know what park has a little coaster that gets very little reconition for how great you think it is, and why.
I myself must say Cyclops at Big Chief's Kart and Coaster World. Short, only 1900 feet, but it's 1900 feet of CCI goodness! Great airtime, I'm almost standing on some hills, with the single-position lap bar it has. It's awesome.

Never rode it, but I think Conneaut Lake Park's Blue Streak looks pretty good (it would help if it were actually blue)

I think The Great White at Wild Wheels Adventure Pier in Wildwood NJ is very under rated.It is a great CCI woody with a 100ft first drop and,the departure from the station is cool because it takes you by suprise and goes under the boardwalk.I actually think Wildwood in General is an under rated place.It has some great coasters and tons of flat rides not to mention the best Flume in NJ.It also has three differant waterparks which are alot of fun :)

Yes, I'd have to say the Conneaut Lake Blue Streak. Bigkirby, you have to get there and ride it. It just has that feel of an age old legend. CLP's Blue Streak definitely gets my vote.
I've never been on it, but the Cornball Express looks like a GREAT coaster, and I don't hear much about it... now it's time to get there and ride it.. :)

The Outlaw @ Adventureland in Des Moines, IA is another great, although small, CCI coaster.
Just be aware that it's the only good coaster they have !

Thank you! I've been waiting for that comment :)

Lakemont Park Skyliner, Coneaut Lake Blue Streak...
There's a little coaster called Millennium Force that is small and good. But nobody ever heard of it! Right?
{Just kidding:)}

Excalibur at Funtown USA is another unde-rated CCI.

Colorado Avalanche: Stanley Cup Champions!
Actually...
At a small park in Western New York called Martin's Fantasy Island, there's a sweet little gem of a wooden coaster called the Silver Comet.
It was named by the public after the loss of the Crystal Beach Silver Comet, but it's absolutely nothing like that. That said... it's actually a really really great coaster. It has some nice drops great turns, and overall is extremely smooth!
Also of note...
Another somewhat little-known coaster (at least outside of the region, nobody knows) is Dragon Mountain at Marineland, Canada.
That is a legend of an Arrow coaster. It's huge, the train itself is really cool, and the layout is totally original and unpredictable. The ONLY problem (aside from it being made from Arrow) is that the themeing was never finished around the helixs'!!

The Great Escape... Soon to become Six Flags Adrondiak Escape!!!
Yankee Cannonball at Canobie Lake is very underated and almost unheard of. It is a classic Herb Schmeck out and back that is chock-full of glorious air. It stands at only 65 ft. tall, but don't let that fool you! It is a great coaster and a must-ride. Canobie Lake is an amzing classic park!

Talon=Awesome
bigkirby, I wasn't really standing standing, I was just off my seat so far it felt that way. Never before have I been able to do that (SFGAm ride-ops suck! They push down your lapbar too much!)
This is interesting, it seems like most of the under-rated coasters are CCIs.

TrB: You suck! (j/k) As soon as I read the title to this thread I was going to chime in with Cyclops. The standing air on the "Cyclops Drop" is every bit as good, if not better than the notorious "5th hill" on Raven. I'll give CCI that, they make great drops, but most of their lats are like $#!+. (or maybe its just the Gerstlauer trains hehehe)

Here's two.
"Thunderation" and "Wildfire" at Silver Dollar City, Branson, Mo.
Theme park that hardly anyone has heard of, just getting wildfire, its pretty sweet.. even though i have yet to go on it and i live within 2 hours... damn work =/
Le Monstre at La Ronde in Montreal is a highly under-rated coaster.
What about Megaphobia in the middle of no-where in England? I am sure many have not ridden it here, but it looks pretty good. Matter of fact, make that any English or Asian coaster. Most of us have never even heard of them.

No way, nothing has more air than the 5th hill! I undid the seatbelt next to me on one ride and it almost hit me in the face!
