A New Jersey teenager said Monday she "freaked out" when her chairlift ride high above a beach stopped as a thunderstorm approached — and that's why she jumped.
Read more from The New York Daily News.
I was going to say the same thing. He didn't just point the camera at the spectacle, he went to check if the girl was ok.
One article I read said she dropped about 35 feet. If you've ever been on the Seaside boardwalk, you'll understand that's a pretty high estimate. I rode that skyride many years ago, and I'd be surprised if it was as much as a 25' foot drop to the sand.
And I live in Jersey and do occasionally care about other people. ;)
I don't recall the chairlift at Moreys..it's been a coupla years since I was there.

I don't appreciate that post, dj. Putting a smiley face on racism doesn't make it okay.
I'm assuming there's another "dj" around?

It may not be there anymore, I don't know... but it was the last time I was there (early 2000's). Go to RCDB and look up Great White coaster at Moreys. The skyride is in some of the pics of that coaster. It's got to be one of the highest bench type of chair lifts around. Some of the gondola type skyrides don't even go that hight. That s.o.b. made me nervous on a clear calm day... I wouldn't want to be on it in an approaching storm... or even slight breeze.

I was wondering what a comment poking fun at people from New Jersey had to do with racism.
Me too, and that's what made me go back and scrutinize my post, only to find a misplaced letter in there that made the post mean something completely different.
What happened was, I started typing just Jersey, then changed my mind to make it New Jersey. My mind was correct, but my thought process flubbed on the keys.
I may not be very tech savvy, and I don't do much youtube..but when I just tried to watch the video for the first time, it said "THIS VIDEO IS PRIVATE." Was it viewable earlier? I didn't want to watch it at work.
