A New Jersey teenager said Monday she "freaked out" when her chairlift ride high above a beach stopped as a thunderstorm approached — and that's why she jumped.

Hm this whole racist typo thing confuses me, I don't see how "New Jersey" can be mistyped into an offensive word. Oh well.
I saw this on the news, and I totally would have jumped too. A broken leg isn't as bad as death/paralysis by lightning. It looks like it's only about 20' in the video but I can't tell how much lower the beach is compared to the boardwalk, and the article doesn't list the height. (great journalism, huh?)
Edit: Found an NBC version of the video on youtube that mentioned the height was 35'......on second thought, that's pretty darn high to jump.
^^ "This Video is Private"... The user must have changed the setting on the video after it went viral.

I was wondering what a comment poking fun at people from New Jersey had to do with racism.
I've never thought of people from New Jersey to represent a separate race. A separate genus and species, however, now that I can't disagree with.

What happened was, I started typing just Jersey, then changed my mind to make it New Jersey. My mind was correct, but my thought process flubbed on the keys.
Oy gevalt!

Yeah. I suspect it had to do with "Jewsey" but everyone knows that if there were demand for a state entirely populated by Jews, they would have built it already.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
I figured it was "Jew Jersey", but I didn't get to see it.
Regardless, Jews aren't a race. DJ is clearly antisemitic.
Hi
I'm glad Raven-Phile's little slip and my subsequent pouncing could add another page or so of thread fun. ;)

I was able to view the full video last night...it was available on yahoo.
The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

I would hope and assume the rate is MUCH higher than that because it's not even close to worth it at that level.
I would expect the rate to be more in line with what Adsense pays for website ads. Am I mistaken? Maybe I should be glad that YouTube sucks at getting my account monetized.
Nope, that's pretty much what you can expect. It seems odd, but the video stuff doesn't seem to pay as well as regular old AdSense for Web pages.

Wow.
.30 CPM hardly seems worth it. Suddenly, I'm not so irritated with YouTube's inability to process accounts correctly.
