Odd looking Shuttle Loop

I thought all of Schwarzkopf's shuttle loops were the straight forward kind like greased lightnin' or Montezooma's Revenge. Check out this picture:

Has anybody ridden this, and are there others out there like this? It looks very cool!

I agree. Those hills certainly look steeper. Gotta love how the loop wraps around the station. I bet this is obsolete, though. We won't see one on this side of the Atlantic. Then again, has there ever been one of these over here? *** This post was edited by MABrider on 6/19/2001. ***

saviourmachine: I forget the link, but I know Nightmare Tony has the on-ride video of this ride. It looks like a heck of a ride, and I know how much you love Monty's Revenge!

I like the banking of the track as you pass through the station, makes for a cool effect.

Hey, is that picture that force312 posted the loading station? Do people step into the train while it is banked? I wonder how it launches with such a short amount of track. What a strange yet cool looking coaster!

Yup, people step into the train while it's banked. The tyres push it up backwards & vice versa. It used to be known as 'Wiener Looping' & had the record for the 'most demented shuttle loop' on the old World of Coasters site.

If you think that's odd, check out another Schwarzkopf creation, 'Katapult.' This has got to be the shortest full-circuit looping coaster ever; http://schwarzkopf.coaster.net/ESkatapultGF.htm Plus it's the only Schwarzkopf coaster with 9 cars & the first to get OTSRs.

This very ride was at "circus World" (or known to my generation as "Boardwalk and Baseball") in Orlando.

The coaster only operated a short time if not at all due to safty concerns.

This to my knowledge has been the only one built. It was called the "Weiner Looping".

I've been on the Bullet hundreds of times!! It is a shuttle loop tied in a knot so that it could travel German fairs but it's now permanently at FlamingoLand. It's a superb ride and a the Drier Looping is over the road!!!

Ah yes, Wiener Looping. This coaster has moved quite a bit. It was built to abe a portable ride, but I dont think it ever real cought on. As for the weird banking in the station, it is like that because of how tight the layout is. The front half of the station track leans to one side, the other leans to the other. This coaster, is lnot like the other shuttle loopers though. Wheels launch you backwards out of the station and up the spike. From there you fall down the spike, through the station, around the turn, into the loop and up the other spike. This other spike is also wheel driven. The wheels launch you a little bit so you can get up the spike more. From there, its all backwards.I do have an onride video if this coaster in action.

Enjoy :)

Right-click the link & 'save target as' (remember where it is saved on your HDD). Playback after it's finished downloading, no buffering needed.

Great video!
