Better than me since I was too lazy to submit it as news. Lot of repeat business from Kennywood.

As much as I like Giant Frisbees, I'm still sad this is replacing Pittfall. Glad it isn't a Starflyer or Breeze-Seeker.

Whatever... Not what I would have decided to build in Pittfall's place. In my opinion, every major park needs a drop ride. Maybe Kennywood isn't really a major park anymore.

Kennywood sure isn't run like a major park, but thats another debate.

It's a no doubt a neat ride, but Kause has a point. Drop towers are one of staples almost every park needs, especially for KW with the great views. I hope I'm not comparing apples to oranges too much when I say that a very similar ride motion can be experienced on Cosmic Chaos. Therefore, in the case of KW, a drop tower would further diversify their lineup.

Maybe they will eventually get another drop tower. The Intamin towers aren't even the most fun out there - the DEAD WEIGHT fall one that was at Beech Bend (I'm confused as to why are they getting a new one -what happened to the old one?) was killer. Scary as crap.

I don't agree. If I'm on a Disco to long, it's one of the rides I would probably get sick on. Whereas, I could ride a Frisbee several circuits in a row with no ill effects.

Some people would say Music Express and Matterhorn have the same too. But, with the swaying car motion of Matterhorn, they are 2 completely different rides.

I used to love KW... a lot. It's not that the park has changed over the years, because that is expected. It's that it has changed for the worse. No more Ferris Wheel. No more auto ride. Garfield's Nightmare replacing a great theme for a darkride. The addition of a really uninteresting steel coaster. ...And now the take out their drop ride for a giant Frisbee. Terrible.

At least they reinstalled Matterhorn. The new S&S sing was a good idea too.

Well, yeah, being that you're in a band and all. But what about those of us who can't carry a tune in a paper bag? :(

The only argument that can be made is that over the last 12 or so years the overall number of rides at Kennywood has probably remained pretty close to constant. It is what it is. Turnpike is gone Auto race is still there.

Pittfall had pretty low ridership and for years they were almost never able to keep all 4 sides open. I will miss the view from up there a lot though.

If I remember that tower at Beech Bend it wasn't very tall but it was dropping with the biggest "Thud" of anyone I had been on.

Does someone have sand in their... tootoo? I'm supposed to be the big complainer...

Go spend a day at Six Flags America (or most any Six Flags park) and then complain about Kennywood. The thing about Kennywood is it's ever changing; they put back the Bayern Curve, they made a kick butt steel coaster out of a painful ride. They added a new looping steel coaster.

It'll be ok Travis *hugs*

I think the Garfield thing will change back eventually. Auto Ride? I'm not sure what you are referring to, but the Traver Auto car ride is still there, rumbling along.

I will admit, I do miss Le Cachot.

I know Mick saw a red door he wanted to paint black, but I never heard about any windows.

They've said the cars will be back.

I think it's a great addition and can't wait to ride it. As tservo pointed out it seemed to have low ridership and they could never keep all of it running. After the Kentucky Kingdom accident I would imagine they were breathing a sigh of relief as it came down.

OD as in over-dose, or out-dated...

What would be REALLY sweet to replace Garfield? Having JMM Studios come in and set the theming toward something that would reflect the ride's history.

Good replacement for Pittfall...although I probably would prefer a 3rd-gen Intamin freefall (like PKI/PKD). Spinning while rising and giving everyone a good look at the river's edge would be very cool...and for whatever reason, the reliability has been pretty good.

Yea, they said Garfield was going to be replaced I believe four years ago. I wish they would bring back the skeletons.

I don't hold my breath for them to replace the auto ride any time soon. Where will they put it?

Pittfall's low ridership is a good reason to get rid of it. I just don't understand why people didn't line up for it. It was one of the best drop rides I have ever been on.
