Woman Upset That Six Flags Rescued Her Dog From Her Hot Car, Then Lost Him

Honestly, I love California but Woman like this make me cringe.

From Gawker:

Shalanon went to spend a day riding roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain, but when she realized the strap of her Louis Vuitton dog carrying-case had broken, she opted to leave Malibu in her car with the windows cracked open and some water and food.

Well, while Shalanon was experiencing the miracle of flight on Tatsu, Malibu was freaking out. A park worker patrolling the parking lot noticed her inside.

"Our security personnel and the Sheriff saw the dog, which they thought was dead," according to Six Flags spokesperson Sue Carpenter.

"[They] broke into the car to get the dog out. We brought it over here to the dog kennel, revived it, gave it some water and cooled it down," Carpenter said.
[/They]

Apparently, people leaving dogs in cars in a scorching parking lot in Valencia is a common occurrence at this particular Six Flags. The park's policy is to break into the cars, rescue the animals, and leave a message on the windshield alerting them to where their not-dead dog is waiting. Well, so far so good. Except then Malibu escaped! She ran out of her kennel while her water bowl was being refilled, and fled into the parking lot.

I say the dog saw his chance to escape and took it! I sure cant blame him

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Seriously, this kind of customer mentality is so prevalent in the hospitality industry that it's downright scary. The business can do no right in too many people's eyes.

I think they should string the owner up, put her in a cage or a hot car with the sun baking on her and see how she does.

Or put her in a pool and let her drown until they shoot her in the head... which would be the most humane thing to do for the rest of us.

I find it funny that she wants to sue. The woman should be charged with animal cruelty. The dog is probably better of without her.

If I were a dog lover who had a part in rescuing the pet from an oven-like car, perhaps I would make up a story that the dog ran away into the parking lot, and then take the dog home to my loving family. It would be my way of rescuing the pet from having to deal with another potential life-threatening incident from the poor decisions of his or her looser owner.

...Perhaps.

Actually it's against the law in California to leave an animal unattended in a vehicle.

I'm glad she lost the dog, but sad that people like this exist.

Maybe her handbag should have been a "Lose-her Mutt'n" instead?

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

I love the title to this thread. It reminds me somehow of Dane Cook screaming, "Why did you stop at a stop sign and let me hit you doing 80?"

So, she was originally planning to take the dog into the park?
