The landmark Big Dipper roller coaster from the now-closed Geauga Lake Park here has been posted on eBay for bidding or outright sale. The bidding runs through Sept. 6 but you can buy it outright for $65,000.

RGB, it would appear to me that you have a bigger issue with folks expressing their opinions over the Blue Streak Pepsi Refresh idea than those folks had with the idea itself. Or at the very least you seem to be having trouble letting it go and moving on.

I think that part of the quote sums my feelings up. It's one thing to feel strongly about your opinions, I know I do. But to bring it up in every other post, related or not, isn't healthy.

I found it interesting that as of last week, a demo permit had not yet been filed and I read in another article that CF apparently hasn't been contacted about it's demolition. Wouldn't this person have to contact CF and schedule a time to do this since they still own the property. Sounds like a lot of huffing and puffing on the owners part.
I think the point is that all of that will go into motion if it doesn't sell today, not that the ride will be demolished today if it doesn't sell.
Did they dismantle Villain or just recycle it? Forgive me for not remembering or not knowing.

But then why announce it in terms of "The ride will be demolished on 9/15 if my demands aren't met." If it's not attention whoring, and is genuinely just conveying information, a little less drama would have served the purpose just fine.

I don't think it ever was announced that way. I think enthusiasts read it that way.
The WKYC article says:
"The coaster will be demolished if she doesn't have a new owner by 9/15," he wrote.
Okay, I added my own bias, but even the statement: "The coaster will be demolished if she doesn't have a new owner by 9/15," sounds more like a ransom note than a conveyance of information.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Not disagreeing.
Just saying, I think it's been misunderstood and we've been acting like there will be a pile of rubble there tonight.
Yeah, I never expected the ride to be torn down on 9/16 (or even to have been started on). I didn't take him to mean it would be GONE on the 16th, just that he was desperate to get someone to buy it by 9/15. Either way, meh.
I liked BD, but in the words of the long dead Freddie Mercury, "Another One Bites the Dust".

Well it's my way of being unique around here (now, insert roll eyes emoticon).

Except no one that could afford to do that wanted to.
And no one that wanted to could afford to (even with the ride structure being donated to them by CF).
It's not like Cedar Fair was turning down bids so they could sell it to this guy, he's the only one who bid on the damn thing.
