The Intamin reverse freefall coaster will run backwards when relaunched after a four week closure. It will also launch from total darkness.

Other than the Arrow shuttle loops are there any other coasters/thrill rides that launch backward?

Actually, in a way, it all adds up. ;)
13 Boomerang, 9 SLC, and 8 B-TR clones
Dreamworld staff, not the park were also saying on the day of the annoucement that they'll be "getting back to full speed aswell". I wondered why this wasn't in the announcement but suspect because they wouldn't like to let on it's only hitting 75/80mph at the moment.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
Superman The Escape closed a week or two ago and a sign outside the ride states it will "relaunch in 2011" and that something "BIG is happening" to it. The park however, has not released any information specific to what's being done to the ride, although with Dreamworld's recent announcement, it's quite obvious as to what it is.
Dreamworld has indeed beaten Magic Mountain to the punch again, with Tower of Terror.

The way that those coasters roll into their launch, I don't see why it would be uncomfortable.
Hah. Roll into their launch? Yeah, if you compare Superman and Tower of Terror to the new Intamin Accelerator coasters, they feel sluggish, but the initial acceleration from a stand-still is still forceful enough to pin riders to their seatbacks. That's not something that would be "comfortable" if your entire upper torso is thrown forward with a violent jerk having the vehicles accelerating in reverse from a stand-still.
