Again, that's all you see at DMB and Phish shows. People hang out and tailgate while listening to the band, then it seems they listen to even more on the way out. I guess it's different when the whole best part about a band is the live music. I mean, when people listen to music before and after, it's usually rare/live mixes.

Hehe, that's going to be impossible for me this weekend when I attend Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. There are twenty plus major artists performing and those artists make up a majority of my music collection :) Oh, and yes, I am wearing the shirt from the last festival in 2007.

The issue isn't listening to the band in your car on the way to or from the show.

The issue is making everybody else listen to the band from your car on the way to or from the show. :)

"Love's" was the first thing I noticed, but I'm OK with it because it was a nice gesture. :)

I see plenty of DMB shirts at DMB concerts, so I'm going to assume that's acceptable, too.

Living in the state that gave birth to DMB and being from my "rival" college, we prefer to taunt those wearing such apparel. :) But you see them all over the place in Virginia.

Personally, I refuse to wear or even go to his concert.. This state essentially made him, yet he charges $90 for an outdoor concert for the "hometown".. Yeah. sorry.. not that good an artist Bubb..

Yet, I will gladly pay $75+ x2 to go to each concert. I'm going twice in the next 2 weeks.

I, personally think that his shows are worth it. All of his accompanying musicians are phenomenal, and they put on one hell of a show.

Let's not forget that the prices he charges for his shows are either in line with, or slightly less than any other band that plays the same venues. I expect to pay $40 for a lawn ticket, and $70-ish for a pavilion, no matter what band I see at a large amphitheater.

I saw him play solo at a frat party at UVA that my band was also there to play. Didn't really pay much attention while we were setting up our gear. Then I saw this new video on MTV about 2 months later...some song called What Would You Say. The guy in it looked familiar. ;)

Yeah.. $75 for a concert is reasonable. But $90 for someone who I find semi overrated.. Meh.. Pass. Not to mention thats for sitting miles from the stage in the lawn. I paid $90 for one of Pink Floyd's last US concerts held in Raleigh.. Now THAT was worth it!

Clearly my lack of patronage doesnt bother DMB, which is fine.. Typically it ends up a VT vs UVA fight in the crowds anyways :) Save that for football season..

LOL. I might even pay $90, but that's depending on location.

He tends to use a lot of that money toward his charity, Bama Works, which is A-OK with me. I also really like that all their buses and rigs run on bio diesel, which might have a small impact, but it's better than nothing.

He's also got volunteers that get into concerts for free so long as they help pick up cans, or pass out info on charity/environmental stuff. I really like what he's doing, and I support that.

Sure.. Cuts his overhead.. I get it.. :)

Never said he wasn't making bank. I just don't have a problem with it.
