So, do we all hang out at the empty Demon Drop site asking random people where the ride went? Or do we all ride Power Tower and keep telling the ride ops how it just isn't the same. ;)

I'm very conflicted over this.
I hesitated the other day when I saw it and now I regret it. It was $11.99 on Monday. Now it's $14.99.
Why was the price raised? I'm guessing it's "just because" considering it's Cedar Fair. Now I'll feel dirty and taken advantage of if I order the shirt. I was also hoping to go a 3rd year without Cedar Fair getting any of my money, but really want the geeky t-shirt.

I wouldn't criticize the park for simple supply and demand.

Yep...Just like I have stopped buying food and drink at cedar fair parks.
And that is part of the overall capitalist pricing model. If you charge too much, do you drive too many customers away to not make it profitable, or is the demand high enough to support that price. In the case of food in the park, they raised the price higher than your demand. Did it price enough people out of demand, however, that they do not make a decent profit? Same deal with the t-shirts. It's simple economics. When they see tons of orders for something, you better believe they feel the demand is there to raise the prices. I would.
Certain victory.

I just get a mental image of a multitude of enthusiasts all thinking they're going to be original by wearing this shirt to the next enthusiast event.
I actually avoid wearing any kind of coaster related stuff to events. Maybe it's embarrassing?

I usually go with a t-shirt from the park Im at weither its an event or not. If I dont have one, its either time to break out the ACE Shirt (oh the horror ;)) or one of my trusty Notre Dame T-shirts. I wont risk wrecking any other shirt in a park. The only place I wear one of my "normal" shirts is at any WDW park that is not AK, because I know the rides there arent going to wreck them and I feel like I need to hold myself to a "resort casual" dress code there.

All I've learned in almost 10 years of coming to this site is that the words "simple" and "economics" have no place together in the enthusiast vocabulary.
Which makes me wonder if the travel necesary to enjoy this interest (more specifically the cost of that travel) makes enthusiasts inherently more frugal when it comes to everything else.
Because, quite frankly, in general, enthusiasts are the cheapest bunch of people I know. ;)
If you're that concerned about price...
