Damn, I meant to use that one. ;)

I have to say, Matt, we've really peppered this thread with puns.

I sea that! When it comes to salt puns, we rock! Perhaps we should table our discussion for now? ;)

Maybe it's because I'm an old salt, but I just can't shake the habit. I know I should be Morton-fied by all these terrible puns. Guess humor is just the spice of life.

Moosh, you're so funny, you're practically Billy Crystal. ;)

Ahh...um...ok...hehehe! No guru of pun'ery here. You guys are to puns as Andy is to haikus. Who knew coaster geeks double masters of English Lit.

La Ronde will launch in May 2010 a new, awe-inspiring, half-suspended rollercoaster over lac des Dauphins...

"half-suspended"? WTF?

...wondering if it would need an enclosed car, like SFMM's Ninja, or PCW's Vortex, in order to be "fully-suspended"? ;) :)

I was "half-suspended" from school once. :)

Omg! I just checked the link. Have the people who own Six Flags lost their minds? Why on earth would you build a suspended looping coaster at a park, when you already have a better suspended looping coaster at the same park?

And, what's this half-inverted nonsense? Do they think calling it half-inverted is going to fool anyone when they go to ride it? There is no mention of the seating being changed. I don't get it.

To me, this makes about as much sense as Shoot The Rapids at Cedar Point. Gee we have Snake River Falls, lets build a longer version of the same ride, and bill it as the tallest water ride in Cedar Points history. Who cares. Isn't Snake River Falls just 5 feet shy of the height of the new ride?

I wonder if these parks are taking advise from people who want to put them out of business. Proably someone in the real estate market, who wants to get the land dirt cheap when the parks file for bankruptsy. probably some real estate investment firm, salavating over the possibility of Lakefront condos, and land that already has basic sewer, water, and electric just waiting to be plundered.

An entire city could be built a Cedar Point. I know it's a stretch. But, if you go back to the days of Coney Island, and other popular parks with water frontage, that's exactly what happened.

Krax, I notice a lot of old threads that have Rider's print all over them this morning.

This move has me scratching my head.

Like someone else said, great escape is in need of a new coaster. The hang and bang would have fit in perfect at great escape.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Great Escape has a city and neighbors to deal with. They cannot just add rides as they wish. I suspect they would not have received approval for the SLC.

I don't see why not.

Hang and bangs are pretty quiet. I would think that the comet and bobsled coasters would put out a lot more noise than an slc would.

It's not just the "noise" issues.

The Great Escape does not have the infrastructure yet to support a ride such as an SLC. Although some equipment and electrical infrastructure was upgraded two years ago, it wasn't sufficient enough to bring the SLC to operation there.
