Kings Dominion today announced Intimidator 305, a 5,100-foot long steel roller coaster. It takes its name from stock car driver Dale Earnhardt, “The Intimidator,” along with the height of the coaster’s lift hill, 305 feet. It will reach speeds over 90 mph. The ride will be a $25 million investment at the park.
Visit the official Intimidator 305 site.

Only two trains? I know there is no MCBR but why wouldn't they set up the station similar to MF with separate load and unload areas?
Then people would be complaining that they have to buy a locker because there wouldn't be anywhere to put their stuff.

Maverick Force. I like the design, layout and theme. I am hoping for lapbars and not OTSRs. Sure, I can see Dick's ego at work here, but I'm certain it will be a great ride regardless.
I had planned to go to several parks in Pennsylvania in 2010. When I saw the first pics of the track and construction at KD I excelerated those plans to 2009. With this announcement I know I made the right choice. I will be hitting KD and Carowinds in 2010.

I've ridden Pilgrims Plunge. As far as the over-the-shoulder lap bars are concerned, they are fine. Very Maverick like. The difference is that Pilgrims Plunge doesn't have the quick changes in direction that Maverick has and that Intimidator 305 will have. Banging my head around on those Maverick restraints kills that ride for me. I'm hoping for lap bars on I-305.

I wonder if there will be trims anywhere? I hope not, and it does not look like it in the animation.

No complaints about the restraints yet? Amazing!
Edit: Nevermind...
It says on the web page that it will have over the shoulder lap bars but not shoulder harnesses. I picture them having the U bar like on King Da Ka, but without the flemsy shoulder harnesses. Should be a good restraint and should be better for the big boys being able to ride, unlike M. Force anymore...
I watched the animation and I wonder if it looks kind of tame (except for the head banging rolling action) because the trains will be significantly longer than Mavericks or Farenheit or iSpeed. Maybe I'm just used to seeing shorter trains and sharper hills.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Maybe they want him to climb up the 45 foot lightning rod that will sit on top of the 305 foot lifthill lol
Anyways not what I was expecting at all and yes I'm alittle disappointed but oh well atleast this has left the door open for other parks/chains to go bigger/faster/longer in the future.
I love the Mega lite start of Kd coaster then it all goes down hill from there lol j/k the more I watch the animations the more I'm starting to like what this Monster is going to do the G's and the sense of speed should be utterly amazing. Not much airtime it seams but what's there looks pretty good, and those changes in direction looks nutts.
Now since CF has left the gates to record taking open SF/SFMM this is your chance FIND! the money make it happen lol
It looks VERY cool.
Seeing as they doing the NASCAR thing, are they gonna plaster the cars with sponsors, or would that just be the station?
I can see it now:
