Again, the Aquatrax thing is a joke. It's an enthusiast meme just like gravy, fanny packs, taer it down, Magnum is sinking, moosh the ride, etc.

How popular is the sliding car wheel at DCA? It and the original Wonder Wheel at Coney Island are the only rides like this. Is it possible some day that KW might become the home of the third ride of this type? It might be too costly to build given that such rides aren't common but you never know what might happen if the park expands into a bigger park some day.

These rides combine the thrills of a roller coaster and a Ferris wheel into a single ride. For those that want a conventional ride, there are also some fixed cars that remain on the rim at all times.

By the way, Kennywood's most recent wheel was acquired when Paradise Lake's rides were auctioned off in the early 1980s. The ill fated Ohio park just couldn't make it with so many good established parks surrounding it in Ohio and Pennsylvania (remember that GL was still doing well at that time). I wonder what became of that wheel?
