Kings Dominion construction ramps up for new roller coaster

Richmond TV station NBC12 has some video looking around the construction site at Kings Dominion, showing the worst kept secret in 2010 roller coasters. A park rep says Internet sources on the identity of the ride are "fairly accurate," which most agree makes this a 300-foot Intamin coaster.

See video from WWBT/Richmond.

ID is a great ride, especially if you want to see how long the queue line is for TTD since that silly wall blocks the zig zag section. :)

Yeah. One night when I worked at CP, a buddy and myself rode it. We started talking about a topic in the line, rode the coaster, and got off, not ever missing a beat.

LK, what you're probably thinking of is the demonstration (I think it might have been on RideMan's page) that there is no way MF ever gets close to 100. Regardless of the initial velocity imparted by the cable lift (unless it's something like 50 MPH) a 300' drop will not get you up to 100 MPH. It was something like that.

You might be thinking of this?

Not a roll of some sort. How intriguing....

I was expecting Chris Hanson, and I got a very interesting link. Thanks a lot, Greg.
