I think LK's band needs to do a remake of the Eric Burdon and the Animals classic hit "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."

LK, what you're probably thinking of is the demonstration (I think it might have been on RideMan's page) that there is no way MF ever gets close to 100. Regardless of the initial velocity imparted by the cable lift (unless it's something like 50 MPH) a 300' drop will not get you up to 100 MPH. It was something like that.

...Unless everybody flaps their arms in unison just before the train crests...

Thanks! That's just the info that I was looking for. If it's true (because one can't believe something just because it's on the internet), TDD does reach about 120 during the drop. That's interesting.

I still wonder what the maximum speed is that a coaster can drop. There has to be a point when a coaster train won't go any faster during free fall, and parks will have to resort to downhill launch to beat the speed record.

Mantis is paintful and the Dragon has no teeth.

The kids getting off Iron Dragon sure seem to love it. Good thing the park doesn't listen to you.

ID is a nice coaster, for what it is, and what it is is a slow, short, meandering (most of the time), suspended coaster in a (now semi-) wooded setting.

ID is by far the mildest of the 4 Arrow suspendeds that we have ridden this year.
