DCA's Sun Wheel --> Mickey's Fun Wheel conversion nearly ready for unveiling!

There appears to be several "dead" sections in the lighting. I spotted two or three on the rim and at least one of the spokes has one.

I probably was not looking close enough, but I thought he was referring to the really cool spiral that is supposed to be there. ;)

Look at the outter circle of lights. There are four unlit sections. They move with when the wheel moves so it is not something between the camera and wheel blocking the lighting. They are also not blocked by any of the cars as they are mounted on the inside. If you imagine the wheel as a clock there are unlit sections at approx the 10, 1, 2, 3, and 4 o'clock positions. Upon a second look there are also some sections of the spokes unlit.

Seeing as this is going to be the backdrop to the Worlds of Color show its Im sure going to be even more impressive during the show.

That's quite dazzling but I do have to agree that it's "bad show" with the missing sections.

You have no idea how difficult it is to keep the lights on a spinning ride lit, especially Ferris Wheels, Skdivers, etc.

Doesn't matter. This Is Disney. Every light must work every day.

If the Santa Monica pier can manage it, Disney can (both wheels have similiar lighting packages).

Even with the missing sections, it's still a helluva lot more impressive than in its previous Sun Wheel incarnation.

It looks really nice. I would love to go to DCA and check it out sometime.

If you forward into around 6:15, I think that's the best one. The wheel appears to completely disappear and the LED lights simulate exploding fireworks behind the Mickey face. Real cool.
