Forced to apologize?? What, are they in 4th grade?
Well there is this little thing called "libel". Had the woman in question and the National Enquier not apologize for that "story", chances are Elitch Gardens ( and Denver's KMGH-TV channel 7 who also was mentioned in the article ) both would had sued the two parties and they would had to pay up.
I always liked the variation on "Magnum is sinking" that included it being sold to Geauga Lake or "Japan." The entire country would buy it!

The ones I hate to hear when I go to SFMM is
The spinning on X is controlled by the ride op and there last ride they flipped over 100 times
Goliath is 300 feet tall and drops vertical
Superman has launched off the track
The shocks on Ninja is to keep the car from flipping all the way over or in other words the cars would be doing inversions without the shocks
I've heard in line RRv was acutally shockwave just repainted and relocated after someones legs got torn off.
a ladys head flew off on Revoloution but all they found was a wig
The parks old enterprise came apart and a car landed where scream would be now
Some one was crushed on spinnout when the floor dropped out they fell and then was supposedly crushed when the floor started to rise.
I heard people say orient express crashed when one train slid back down the hill into the other one
There plenty more but my biggest thought when I hear stuff like this is, if your hearing these thing and believe it why the hell are you still in line for it?
Edit had to add one of my alltime favorties
Colossus is the old woody from long beach it was relocated to SFMM because it was falling into the ocean lololol
Well, it sort of goes up-side-down 3.
Before the SFKK incident, many people would tell the tale of how some girl's hair got caught in whatever drop ride at whatever park, and ripped her scalp off.

Nope. There's just one overbank on the island. It's the second turn on the island though, and the first turn on the island is just banked, but not overbanked.
Now I feel like a coaster geek...lol

This one is intentional, but the ride ops on the Silver Bullet at KBF say that it goes upside down 6 1/2 times. Exactly what elements create 1/2 of an inversion? Although it is done on purpose, I find it somewhat amusing when I hear it.
My mother (1946-2009) once asked me why I go to Magic Mountain so much. I said I feel the most alive when I'm on a roller coaster.
2010 total visits: SFMM-9, KBF-2
