I've heard that they didn't want to run the risks associated with those way-steeper rides you find at other parks (read : ejection), so a nice straight slope from a thrilling height was the choice.
The only shot I've seen is from straight on, which makes anything look a lot steeper. Wait.... that bottom camera has a nice shot with more of a side view, and i'll be- it does seem rather steep! One thing for sure, from waaaay up there (and after a scary elevator ride) it's gonna seem steep enough for me!
And that queue house looks fantastic- it almost looks like they're putting up one of those fancy strip malls you see nowadays!
Mamoosh said: Well...the original design didn't include a tunnel. Maybe Will decided to go steeper?
The design always included a tunnel -- that part just wasn't included in the animation. ("Uh...insert 18 seconds of darkness here.")
The angle of descent remains 45 degrees as originally planned. Will wanted the thrill to be the height -- hoping the less-severe drop angle would be a little more family-friendly.
We top the tower on Friday. :)

Will gets down on his hands and knees to give a tour of the just-arrived boats in today's videos.

How will the bailing holes work? I was under the impression on "regular" boat rides like this, that the big lift hill put the boat at an angle allowing the water to drain out the holes in the back.
On this ride since you don't have the standard lift, is there another place where the boat gets tipped back to drain (loading dock?, before the vertical lift?), or do those bailing holes work in a completely different why then I have always thought on these rides?
The bottom left hand picture shows how I thought these are bailed:

Going up the lift, water draining out the back...they must have redesigned these boats to self bail somewhere else.
