The booing of team GRP

The problem was that the GP was concerned that they wouldn't get their final rides on Medusa. This would have made me angry as well. I still wouldn't have booed being a coaster enthusiast, I would have supported the world record attempt.

I wouldnt have booed them but I understand the frustration of those waiting behind them. Hurt their morale???? Please, they had so many privilages with this they needed no morale. It was easy for them to break the record.
-Not having to wait in any lines
-Getting to ride coasters after the park closes
Those are some major advantages if you ask me. Now if they had to wait in line like everyone else and did not have special access after hours, that would be a challenge and would require a high degree of morale. It just showed if you have the proper connections you could break the record, it was not a challenge other than schmoozing the parks for the privilages. I wonder if The Discovery Channel had not been there if they would have had as much special access? I think it was mostly GP booing. It's not like that took place at an ACE event.
I was in the Demon queue during the booing. I was actually quite surprised. It was nasty. People were really angry! So we had to wait 5 minutes longer, but I doubt anyone lost a ride because of them. (I did not participate in the booing)

Considering they were GP and probably had no clue what was going on... They only knew someone that didn't wait in line was going to ride it before them, put yourself in your position. How would you feel?

It was probably a few people who got the entire crowd going. It doesn't take much.
GRP got their feelings hurt, they didn't expect the negative reactions. Lately, David Curely has been in RRC with slap stick replys to negative posts. If you asked ACE if they're happy with the publicity they got, I bet they'd say NO. They're not exactly winning people over, haven't heard of any events they're holding, and I never visit their web site.
Let's face it, we hate to see others in the spot light. Roller Coaster Riding takes no talent. It's just a matter of how much money you have to travel, and what connections you have. Look at all those people on the coaster shows. Did they have any talent? No, they couldn't even describe the ride elements accurately. They sounded so stupid on camera. Where did they get some of those people? Yeah, a few we're people who are here, but some of them plain blew it.
Frig, we should talk about the Express Pass system they have at IOA. They're scaling them back. See, people don't like it when others go to the front of the line. That's why everyone at PGA was pissed, record attempt or not.
Oh, and what are you gonna do when the next group invades Ohio? Are you people gonna boooo them? I'm sure you'll know about it this time. Depends on who they represent and the cause.
Let's just hope it's not people from Japan trying to steal another record of ours. If so then I'll fly up to Ohio to boo them myself.

I would have stood outside the ride with a group of people wearing CoasterBuzz T-shirts and signs cheering them on.
I think it's all about publicity for the parks and doing a TV show that you can sell advertising for. The record is a byproduct.

I agree with Jeff, I would have really been supportive. I don't know why they were booing. My guess is that someone thought it would be funny to do. And you know social situations. If one person does something, everyone else joins in, not fully knowing what is going on. I mean, the back of the line obviously could not see what was going on, yet they knew the line was being held up. So they probably joined in with someone's idiotic booing. Understand what I mean? That's my thoughts. Then again, I'm not a psychologist ;)
