Would CP demolish MS?

After hearing how bad the Mean Streak is and wheather or not they have a space problem (please don't start that here), do you think that CP might demolish MS to put another coaster there, or, maybe give it a serious operation as in changinf the course and such?

I think that they might(slim chance) reroute it but I personaly don't think that they would not demolish it.

I hope not. As mediocre as MS is, it's a beautiful coaster and lots of the GP seem to like it. I NEVER rejoice at the removal of a wooden coaster unless their are some serious structural problems, I don't care how bad most people think it is. If your listening CP, never remove that ride!

The Mean Streak is not even near so bad that it should be removed. Besides, that's not real prime real estate in my opinion for a new ride. That's pretty far back right against the perimiter road. I suspect MS has a long life ahead of it.

Cedar Point removes rides that don't carry enough riders (big slide), or that no longer have sufficient capacity (Jumbo Jet?). They don't remove rides because the enthusiast community doesn't care for the ride.

Mean Streak is a big ride that can be seen from all over the park, and carries a lot of riders through the season. Why fix something that's not broken?

Why remove a multi million dollar investment? So what if it isn't great!? Yes, I could see some re-tracking. I havn't riden it so I don't see/know what is wrong with the ride.

No it would effect the coaster count I don't think they will ever get rid of it. maybe a reprofile ? I know it gets retracked. I rode it 4 times this year but only the front seat. it wasn't as rough as it was in the past ( not as fast either )

I think people are too hard on MS. I rode it ten times a week ago. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really pretty smooth. I didn't like the trim brake on the first hill but, I didn't think it ruined the ride. I thought it was running WAY better than last year. It is the best looking coaster I have ever seen. I think people are so hard on it because it is at Cedar Point. If it was at a smaller park people wouldn't be so hard on it. I hope they never remove it. I really enjoy it.

They won't remove it, but I do believe at some point in time they will do something to make the ride more comfortable. They have to. It's a maintenance nightmare and they pay a lot of people to take care of it. Remember, when this ride was new, it was a top ten coaster in my opinion. So there is hope.

Mean Streak won't be removed or rerouted any time soon, it is still a very good coaster. Not to mention CP seems so obsessed with their coaster count that I highly doubt they would destroy a coaster in order to make a new one, besides, CP has plent of space to build new coasters.

I've been on a lot of woodies and Mean Streak IS the worst... but I still wouldn't want to see it removed and I definitely don't see Cedar Point removing it because that ride always has a nice, long line. The structure is so excellent to look at too. I don't care if they really did have the worst ride in the world, as long as people are riding, they're going to keep it. Plus the coaster count.

I haven't seen a long line to that coaster in years. usually the line starts a the base of the stairs. Its still a coaster I ride a lot because of that fact. but its definitely not the thrill machine it once was. but still good enough for me !

Lubricant, Millenium Flyer trains, and a big offseason overhaul of the tracks, and the removal of the first drop trims.

One of the things I have noticed over the last few years is that a great many parks do not oil the tracks on their wooden coasters.I remember Andy Vettel saying that it was a MUST!.It increases the life of the top steel and the wheels,and IMO gives you a much better ride. Kennywood still oils the tracks, and you can tell the difference,especially after a rain! I have not recieved a satisfactory answer why they don't oil. Rideman, have you heard anything?

They should tare up the tracks and replace them with the track system Gemini has, Gemini is one of the smoothest coasters around!!

But, they also consider it to be steel (IMO, if it has any wood, it's a woodie). Then there would be SUCH a lack of woodies!!

Chenge a wood coaster into a steel coaster? That's an new one!

Why not have Intamin retrack it with that new system they used on Colossus in Germany? That combined with some shiny new trains could turn a "one ride/take an Asprin" coaster into a top 10 ride! Who knows?

But I have heard that they have got plenty of room for more rides.

Why would they demolish MS...and they should not...it is my favorite ride in the park...I can ALWAYS knock off TONS of rides, cause the lines are usually short
