I'm not watching the coaster specials right now.

They just tend to be poorly done, in my opinion, and most of their facts are right, but when they get them wrong, it really pisses me off, so i'm just not going to watch.

But once they are done, you all can give me the run down of they showed.

If you want to know what they've shown, then you might as well watch it. So maybe they're poorly done, but they do have some awesome footage.

We are the Coasters Knights who say Ni!!! We demand a sacrifice. We want a coaster! (not too big and not too small) hehe. I don't care about the facts, I just like watching the videos! :)

Well, I am watching it. The first show was a little...sucky. I am glad they broke a record and everything but it seemed like most of the coasters they were riding were kiddie coasters. Wupdedo.

If I were one of those people who had to wait, I would have booed them too. J/K

Of coarse we're all watching and taping.

Now,

Can we all agree on these facts.

1. We want to see the rides from start to finish.

2. We want the elements described from the narrator, with title bars at the bottom of the screen. Meaning, I wanna see the ride in a POV with the name of the element at the bottom of the screen as it's happening.

3. Leave out the family and scientist junk.

Change the shows. I don't need to hear someone yelling in the front seat of a coaster. It doesn't work. It's not the same as being there. I'M NOT IN THE COASTER. I CAN'T FEEL THAT EXPERIENCE ON TV. It doens't work. Show the ride, not the people in it. Did you understand anything that dude on MF said? NOOOO.

Show more footage of the rides. I wanna see the rides, not interviews.

What kind of irritates me on the More Top 10 Coasters is at the point when they got to the #2 steel coaster... Millennium Force.

For the 1st person perspective on the coaster, they STILL KEEP USING THE SAME FOOTAGE FROM EARLY MAY 2000!!!

It's a little irritating because it's the same old footage where there's absolutely no foliage on the trees and no people in the park.

So they had a ride-on with this park enthusiast. The camera would switch to him riding on the coaster, and you could see the lush green leaves on the trees, and then switch to the 1st person perspective where you all of a sudden notice that there are no leaves and no people!

It's a minor annoyance, but don't you wonder why they never took any more 1st person views on Millennium Force since that opening day???

Although I didn't participate in it, I was in that Demon line (further back, out of view of the cameras). I thought a riot was going to break out! It was a VERY VERY crowded day (at least I thought) and people seemed tired of waiting and waiting. I could easily have booed. I was in a bad mood thanks to the crummyness of many aspects of the park, service, etc., and to top it off, I arrived at the park at 4:30, made it to Stealth for my first ride at 5:05, only to find that the line closed at 5:00! 4 hours before the park closed! ("Oh well, I'll get it tomorrow." I thought. WRONG. They didn't open it!)

Anyway, it was a VERY interesting scene at the Demon. The tape didn't do justice to it.

Yes, I don't care what ANYONE says, ''GRP'' is
a *joke* of a record breaking attempt.

I mean hell, ANY SCHMO can call up a park,
say, ''I'm trying to break a record for riding
the most coasters in 24 hours,'' and the park
will of course roll out the red carpet, especially
when they're gonna be on Discovery Channel.

I mean, when else would Scandia Fun Center
get TV time? Never.

They were driven around, given exit ramp
ride access, they had people keeping a
diary FOR them, they had someone doing
camera footage FOR them, and they got
to ride after park hours.

What kind of a ''challenge'' is that? All they
needed were mammals to fill the seats.

I'd like to see someone do a REAL challenge,
''Average Joe'' style. Ohio/Western PA or
East Coast seems to be the place to try it...

Rob I have to partially disagree. There is more technical work than you think. As you heard, it took them 6 months to prepare.

Like I said, I think the riding was the easy part. I bet they broke the record for riding the most Kiddie Coasters.

I wonder why they did not go to Disneyland to help set their record. There are four there at the time of their taping: Gadgets Go Coaster, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. (DCA wasn't open yet when they set the record) So maybe Disney wouldn't let them in early or give them exit passes. Seems that Disneyland with 4 coasters would be better than Scandia or Adventure City with two each...

I doubt any park would roll out the red carpet for anyone. Remember fact#1 from the program David Escalante is head of public relations for ACE. That means that he is skilled in dealing with all the different parks and has more clout than if you called up as an individual. As is typical people are second-guessing what other people do. Until you try it yourself let them enjoy their record.

I can't believe it took them "months" to plan this trip. I could walk out my door at dawn and pull the exact same stunt off. Of course I wouldn't be allowed to, or care to for that matter, participate in the practice of line jumping. As far as the "record" goes, who cares? Yes, I am an enthusiast, but I think the feat is about as meaningful as "World's Largest Ball of String" and "Longest Hoagie Ever Made." What a waste of resources to publish that silly little book.

Send them an e-mail. I've done this before and they responded back thanking me for doing it.

I just typed up a long letter with the same points I made up above.
