I'm not watching the coaster specials right now.

I don't care much for the GRP thing only because I hate that TV makes it appear the world revolves around the west coast, while the coaster world revolves around this little group of ACE members. No disrespect toward people who live there, it's just that there is a world outside of LA, and there are "famous" local personalities at every park.

And to the shows' credit, that's where they scored bonus points for me. Who did they have on the Ohio coasters? It wasn't Escalante, that's for sure. It was CP fixtures like Ellex King and Dan ("Wanna See My Tally Counter") Haverlock. It was Great Ohio Coaster Club's president on S:UE. Those are the people who know these rides the best and are the biggest fans of those parks.

Regarding the original post, um, OK. Whatever floats your boat. Seems like kind of a silly thing to get all worked up about. I find the shows are pretty well done, even from an enthusiast perspective. It's good documentary TV.

I thought the shows were well done, especially hour number 3. I mean where else are you going to see a behind the scenes tour of S:UE and Hypersonic XLC? I thought the GRP shows was good also in that I saw many coasters I've never seen before as most of the shows show the same rides over and over again. I agree with Jeff that is was nice to see different faces for the Ohio section but they were passed over in a previous Discovery Channel special for David Curley from GRP (he rode MF).
I noticed that GRP didn't ride Flashback, was it not operating that day? What was the deal? Also they would be no where without the kiddie..er..junior coasters, which were 11 of the 40.

And it would be easy to break this record this year because of the new coasters-

PGA-Psyco Mouse
SFMW-V2
SFMM-X, Deja Vu, Goliath Jr.
And all of the smaller parks additons.

I wouldn't be surprised to see someone try to break the record this year.

I'm just glad they showed something at Carowinds for once. (Flying Super Saturator on More Top 10 Coasters)

Now that I have my chance, I will give my two cents about these shows. Overall, I enjoyed these shows. I have really lostr all respect for ACE members though. This may be be just a bad group of memebers, but I feel that they give all ACErs a bad name. I was impressed with their world record. Why didn't they ride all of the big costers at some of the parks? SO many kiddie coasters, whatever. The top ten show was my favorite, very well done. I was bery happy that they showed the top ten of wood and steel. I was so happy that they based it off of the Golden Ticket Awards. The Extreme Rides how was OK, with some good behind the scenes footage of Hypersonic, but........... The footage of MF and SD2K was HORRIBLE. I don't know if you noticed it, but they sped up the footage of MF which nobody will notice, but it was just dumb. The SD2k footage was terrible because I got to see nothing of the actual track. Overall, though, I would rather be watching coaster shows than not watching coaster shows, so enjoy what we get. It is still pretty good.

Coasters- a little slice of heaven
The record was broke in October and when I went to SFMM then Flashback wasn't operating. It doesn't operate that much anymore.
Jephry: It took them six months to coordinate
their walkbacks with the parks. :) Seriously
though, I don't belive or applaud their efforts,
whatever the cause...
*...gets an idea for a S:ros record...*

...*ahen* anyways, I thoink those were the best discovery channel shows yet! Compared to the older ones, those were really, really, good!
