I would say in kumbe when I saw it in a Holiday brochure, I saw that and although I didnt know the words then, it was the Articulated trains and colour, sounds strange but it's true! that's why Kumba is my most need to ride coaster!!

I was in my 6'Th grade Social Studies class and we always had to write a current event. Well one day, my friend wrote his on Six Flags Magic Mountain's new stand up coaster: The Riddlers Revenge. When I saw that artist rendering I immediatly wanted to go on it and fell in love with coasters after I finally went on it a month after it opened.

I think just going to Cedar Point did. If not that it would have to be Top Gun at PGA. My first loop.

Vertical Velocity at SFGAm. By being able to follow the construction of a coaster really got me into it! But since '99 with Raging Bull I've not been able to go a day without thinking of coasters.

Blue Streak at CP started it in 1973. It was a yearly excursion to SFGAm and CP until Magnum came along and pushed me over the edge.

The Dragon Fire at PCW in 1987 got the ball rolling, I was scared ****** of looping coasters before that.. Then I saw an article in Popular Mechanics for the first inverted coaster(Batman), which got my interest really going, then I saw a video of Raptor in 94, The rest is history...

I'm with you on that, Lifthill310.
Blue Streak and Mine Ride were my first coasters. Magnum pushed me over the edge.

There wasn't really a particular coaster. I have always enjoyed coasters but no until my trip to CP last summer did I became an addict. I was so excited about going, I read everything I could about the park and the coasters. I didn't even know about MF until 2 weeks before we were going. What a great surprise. I came back and discovered CoasterBuzz and the rest is history. I now spend about 1 hour a day thinking about coasters in some capacity. I can't get enough of them. My friends, family & girlfriend are sick of it.

The beginning of my coaster enthusiasm was while attending US Space Camp when I learned that going upside down is fun. After that, I proceeded to ride a few smaller coasters before heading to Las Vegas where I rode Desperado, Manhattan Express, and Canyon Blaster. I had a lot of fun on those rides, but it wasn't until the next summer when I visited Busch Gardens Tampa that coasters became a part of my everyday life. After one ride of Kumba, and being blown away by its smoothness and power (which from someone who had only ridden Arrow and Togo coasters previously is a huge step) I was hooked. The bad part is that Montu was closed when I went to ride it so I didn't get to ride an inverted until my trip to Riverside (now SFNE) later that summer.

I rode my first coasters at age 9(Minetrain and Mindbender at SFOG) After Mindbender, I was scared to death of coasters untill last summer at VisionLand (even though it was my 5th time at VL) and I rode The Rampage, the #4 wooden coaster in the world!!!! Then it clicked

Revolution at SFMM got me started. And Ghostrider kicked things up a big notch, finally inspiring me to do some traveling and ride in Florida and Ohio.
