I have loved coasters for as long as I can remember. I would always want to go to the nearest park whenever we went on a family vacation.
The coaster that pushed me "over the top" so to speak, was Goliath!

As a teen: the Revere Beach (MA) Cyclone. Sadly it was gone not long after. Life got in the way until one day in 1995 I found myself at this place called Knoebels Grove and went on their woodie (green!?), more or less for my 9 year old daughter's sake. That started it! I knew after the ride I had been on one excellent coaster. I did not know it was a top honors coaster then. But I (we) do now! I was hooked again and still am. Now I try to make up for "lost" time. (BTW, I don't guess I need to ID that coaster at Knoebels).

Mother, did it need to be so high?
Either the Whizzer at SFGAm, or Scorpion at BGT. Whizzer was the first ride I went on at GAm when I was young, but Scorpion was the coaster that got me addicted. After that loop (my first), I couldn't get enough. I must have rode that and Python a dozen times that fateful day.

The Jet Coaster ROARS!
It would have to be Shockwave st SFGAM. I first rode the coaster in like 1991. After that the rest is history. That was back when LA Gear was sponsoring the ride. WOW!!

My Father and his passion for rollercoasters inspired me. Every summer for 20 years, My Father,My sister and I would make several pilgrimages to Cedar Point. For me, it was time that our family had pulled together to share our love for thrill rides. In later years, my enthusiasm for Amusement Parks started to fade.Until, the Birth of my niece. NOW it's a new generation of enthusiasm in my family. Not to mention this web site and all the innovations in design for the past decade or so.
IT all started when i Was 7. I really didn't even notice rollercoasters then i just went to the park for the kiddy rides. I was at Hersheypark and rode 2 rides on Comet. After that i just rode small/medium size woodies. My first steel and Looper was Viper at SFDL. Now I will ride anything except small rides.
Millennium Force, I was afraid of coasters until last year. My friends kept talking about this 300 foot coaster, and I said to myself that I had to ride it. I rode the Beast as my first coaster that year and loved them ever since.
River King Mine Train at SFStL was my first (that I can remember), then some other non looping coasters (I'm sure the Whizzer was one of them), then Tidal Wave @ SFGAm took me in to the world of loops...but it was really Shockwave (SFGAm) that made me a rollercoaster fanatic. Season passes and websites such as these then turned me in to an obsessive fanatic. ;)
Cedar Creek Mine Ride, But I will never forget the first time Mom took me with her on the Blue Streak back in '74.

The coaster that got me going was Magnum. I was 7 and i was completely terrified of coasters. My dad talked to me for a while about what it was like and then i finally gave in. After i got off, i couldnt resist but to go again.

CP in 2002, get to the point
The Steel Phantom rekindled my love for rollercoasters. Originally it was the Blue Streak that started my love affair for coasters. At first I didn't like it, but a little later I loved it and couldn't get enough. I started drawing rollercoasters 24/7 (this is at age 6 or 7).
Now I can't get enough and am SO happy that there are programs like RCT and UltraCoaster 3D to play and web sites like Coasterbuzz to visit.

I started at about 7. My first wooden coaster was the Racer at Kennywood. My first steel coaster was the Steel Phantom a few years later. Things just got bigger and better from there!
I would have to say the Mine Ride at CP. I was 8 years old when dad threw me in the train with him, and said shut up you'll like it!!
i went to SFGAdv. when I was 6 with my family. At night my 13 year old sister (at the time) wanted me to go on Rolling Thunder, but I was really scared. But, she forced me to go on. I came off and i screamed LETS DO IT AGAIN. And i went on it over and over. And then I never went back until 3 years ago. And i went on Batman the ride for the first time and then i went on all of the other rides like medusa and scream machine and viper. I was really interested and i started studing them.

Riddlers Revenge no doubt. My friend took me to SFMM and the Riddlers was only a month old. He rode it alone but I was to scared when he came back he told me I had to ride it. So I did and Ill never regret it. :-)
I think I've been obsessed with roller coasters since I was about 3 taking trips to Great Adventure every Sunday. I could only stay in Bugs Bunny Land, and I always noticed the Scream Machine towering over it, and thought that was the coolest ride (that was in 1990-1991). I never was tall enough to ride a ride like Runnaway Train or Rolling Thunder until I was about 6 or 7 (I had tapes that enabled you to ride "big" roller coasters and watched them day and night). When I got on Runnaway Train the first time, I was excited and loved the airtime. Then i moved to Rolling Thunder. I was a little too short for that so I had to stuff my shoes to make it on. Then when I got on it, I wouldn't get off, and stayed on for 12 consecutive times! It was the spark. Now I can't spend 1 hour of the day without riding roller coasters in my mind or talking about them.
