Six Flags Over Texas unveils 10 new rides

Are any of the rides coming from AstroWorld?

Their system won't send me the article. It makes me "update my account" and then crashes with a "system error." Anybody care to summarize?

Can someone summarize what the article says as I have the same problem as RideMan?

4 from other 6 flags. Only 2 from Astroworld. Doesn't reveal what any of the rides are except a "saucer-spinning ride called La Fiesta de las Tazas". It also says that the rides will be placed throughout the park with many going near big thrill rides so that people that can't ride those rides have something to do while they wait. It also talks a little about Snyder and Red Zone and their desire to bring in more families. Oh and no current rides will be removed from the park although El Sombrero will be moved.

The article actually states four are coming from other SF parks, two from Astroworld. I think the article may be in error unless the Scrambler is coming from somewhere else. They had some illustrations on the local news last night.

The used rides I can identify are:
-Rock-N-Rocket is probably AstroWorld's looping starship.
-Crazy Legs is probably AstroWorld's Troika.
-Rodeo is SFGAd's Huss Rodeo/Breakdance.
-Sidewinder is a Scrambler which I thought was coming from AstroWorld too, but it could be coming from somewhere else.

The new rides:
-An Interactive Spray Ground
-Caddo Lake Barge - a Zamperla Rockin' Tug
-La Fiesta de las Tazas - spinning saucer ride
-Up, Up & Away - a Zamperla Balloon Race
-Blackbird - I'm not sure of the generic name but this may be that Zamperla kiddie ride that looks kind of like a suspended whip. I saw one this summer at either Hershey or Dorney. Suspended cars travel in an oval and swing out as they go around the corner.
-Boot Scootin’ - another Zamperla kiddie ride with boots that move up and down (kind of like a mini Dumbo).

Nooooooooo!! No more cows at SFGAdv?? It was bad enough when they shipped off my favorite flat (Pendulum) to SFGAm, and now they are shipping my second favorite (Rodeo) to SFoT?? So what now we're going to be left with swings and a round-up? Who makes these dumb-a** decisions?

Hopefully they do a better job landscaping than Six Flags Worlds of Adventure when they tried to install several kiddie rides at once on the Wildlife side--they ended up just placing them in the middle of the midways without any landscaping or common sense regarding the placement of the rides.

TiggerMan is Right! I loved the bulls at Rodeo...Or were they cows? I didn't look under there. Anyway, those cows were forever mistreated. Everytime they would load and unload the cars, the bovines were prodded with a long metallic stick into their sides. It must have hurt like heck....

Seriously, that is one of my favorite flats at Great Adventure. And it would have made a nice pairing with "El Toro."

By the way, for a few years, there were signs posted and ride operators were strict about following the policy of "2 to a car." Last year, the signs were down and I was able to enjoy the attraction as a single rider.

Jeffrey, you were real close on the location of the Zamperla suspended whip called "Flying Tigers". It's located at Knoebels. As for the cow-themed Breakdance, well you can always come visit us at SFA.

Hmmm. I didn't make it to Knoebels this year, but I was there last year. I could have sworn I saw one this year too, but I can't remember where. Does Lagoon have one?

It looks like a fun ride--I think they need to make an adult version.

Did you go to the Puyallup Fair? I believe they had a Flying Tigers ride.

Didn't SFoT just recently remove their scrambler?

It was removed a few years ago to put in Superman Tower of Power. I understand it got shipped to another park. When we get this other one I think it will be the park's third Scrambler.

I think "Missile Chaser" (the old scrambler that was where S:TOP is) was sent to SFMM to replace their Scrambler that got damaged by a tree.

As for parks without a Scrambler, PCW, La Ronde and gasp.. SFGADV don't have one.
