SixFlags Over Texas unveiled 10 new family-oriented rides on Thursday. This is the largest expansion in the park’s 45-year history, according to the park's general manager.

Seifert has the list right, we think now they are getting Astroworld's Looping Starship, Troika, and possibly Scrambler. I've heard the AW scrambler may go somewhere a little closer to Houston though, so SFOT may be picking one up from somewhere else. It's not like those aren't pretty common and cheap.

Yeah, I thought SFoT pulled their scrambler out not too long ago. I think that is the one that went to SFoG, though, not SFMM. It seems odd that the park keeps ripping out scramblers and then putting in new ones a few years later. Maybe more parks should start removing rides, then installing them later with new marketing. Whatever works... :)

Right idea, wrong park.

This is what needs to be done at SFMM. There isn't much there besides coasters and water rides. If any park needed flats desperatly, it would be Magic Mountain.

Heck, you can pick up a new Scrambler pretty cheap. Perhaps thats what they are doing.
Where are they going to place all these rides if they are not removing any rides? The park look cramped and landlocked when I was there on Halloween weekend. I don't see much room for anything else.
This sounds like a great expansion for SFOT, more parks should follow their example. I agree with what others said about SF Gradv, which is near me too. It is a shame to lose yet another flat, Timewarp, Evolution, Frisbee, Jump, Rodeo, Scrambler, Trabant....about all that will be left will be the Wave Swinger and Round-Up. I love how they made that big deal the other year about adding 30 rides (or whatever the # was) in a single season, and then removing almost all of them within ten years. And out of what they do have left, about half the rides are normally closed.
I think there are places here and there that can accomodate flat rides. When Missile Chaser (Scrambler) was taken out we heard it was going to be moved to the area next to the motion simulator theater, there is room for a ride there. They can also eliminate the excess queuing for the free fall and put a flat or two in there. They also bought additional property. SF now owns all those abandoned stores that are near the driveway entrance to the park. From inisde the park it's to the right of Batman and behind the Dodgem building. I'm hoping they are saving that for a new coaster, but they might drop a flat or two there. I also found out from Mark at Zamperla that the Blackbird is not a Flying Tigers type of ride. He said it's a Zamperla version of a Rocket Ships ride. He doesn't understand why the park said it is on an oval track, because it is not. Also Up, Up and Away is not a Balloon Race. It's more like a Star Dancer but the riders can spin the cars.
