Deja Vu @ SFoG
Hey, why would there be a picture. Lets see, it happened on a Wednesday or Thursday when the park was closed. Most of the evidence of a crash were moved so that the majority of guests would not see it and get afraid of riding it when it opens. Can't you believe this. I spend most of my extra time at Sfog. I can't wait for it to open. But I am able to grasp the fact that it really did crash. It makes sense from other accounts. Other people saw it test once before last Sunday before the crash. It made it through the boomerang and through the loop but the pulley cart didn't catch it because it was sitting at the top of the second vertical spike. That was the first sign of trouble. They must have believed they fixed it after that and tried to test it again. That is when it crashed into the derailed pulley cart. I am sorry if you want pics because NOBODY other than Vekoma's construction personnel were there. So go ask them if you don't believe me.

"I can absolutley verify this. I was at the park today and drove to the back to see Deja Vu. It was NOT pretty... all the cars were sitting under one of the que-shed. Also, there was bits and pieces of Lime green and yellow fiberglass and foam all over the ground. I didn't know why untill I read this post... makes since. "
This is a post from Danimation... so... it seems anyway them at danimation believe it. Yeah, plus why would they want you all to know? It's a thing that might now help people to actually get on the ride.

Thats what they are trying to figure out Jeff! It shouldn't have happened, but it did. None of the other Dejas will open until they figure out what happened and as of Friday they still don't know what caused it to happen.

I think that Vekoma needs too think their coaster over good before they send it to the park. Any way I dont belive that it crashed. Its very unlike that that ever happens. Its a chance 1 out of a 1,000,000,000 that this could happen. So the train at SFGAm have not arived. This sux so bad. Im going there on memorial day. I thought that it whould be open by than. This realy sux.

I'm NOT going on Déjà Vu at SFGAm this year. I can't believe that Vekoma would allow their products to slip to that level of Quality. While I realize that their office space may not allow for the building of a prototype, but from what I've heard, they have a Hammerhead Stall protoype operating there. I Believe that the HS uses a cable lift, and so Vekoma thought it would work beyond a one-car train operation. Obviously not. I'm still baffled how Vekoma got those new trains to SFoG so quickly. And BTW GreatAmericaBoy, the trains are on site at SFGAm according to a Vertical Velocity ride op. All I know is that I'm very dissappointed if this is true.
Well, lets see. A few (very few) people are fanatical about wanting us to belive it crashed. "Oh, they covered it up!" basically is what they are saying. I doubt that not a single news paper in Atlanta would let it pass by without reporting, and I was searching for it on some of thier websites. Nothing came up. Also, I doubt Six Flags could let it be covered up without telling the public. There must be SOME law making them be obligated to release the information. Also, the cart is on a second track and on it the same way as the train on its own track. Wheels above, below, and outside of the track. It is not possible to have it derail without tampering with it. I doubt it was installed wrong, and I belive it is perfectly safe (as safe as a macine is, anyways.) Sure, macines fail, but I doubt a company would make three identical prototype macines in the same year with no testing, only to have one fail disasterously, meaning they would have to close all three (and the fourth planned one at WB Movieworld or whatever!)
The only way I will belive this is if someone can get me pics, a press release, or get me to the site of the accident! I doubt any of these three are possible.
And I'm still waiting for my VekCola! Vekoma has bad service, just like McDonalds! I have been waiting for over 12 hours!

I agree with much of what you said, TrBiggar.
There are too many conflicting reports here:
"Hey, why would there be a picture"
"There is no way to get pics The whole incident is being covered up"
But, wait:
"If you do go, the destroyed cart and car are on the far left side, by the maintence gate."
Why no pictures? Many people are saying that "mangled cars" and other nasty things are there. Just doesn't make sense. Sure there may not be pics of the "accident" occurring, but why no pics of the supposed aftermath that is still there?
Until there is a picture or a news story, I suspect many people will put this one right along side "Magnum is sinking, so they sold it to PKI"

Listen, us people near the park haven't had the time yet to go get pictures for you. Have you even watched Atlanta news channels? They barely recognize SFOG. It was 2 weeks after its opening that they briefly talked about Acrophobia. If you owned SFOG would you go tell every news company about a testing problem? And if you were the Atlanta news would you care about a testing problem? Okay it happened, and now lets move on and get ready for the opening of Deja-Vu in a few short weeks.

Would you have a choice? People that work for the media are regular people, and they can hear stuff too, just like we can. I'm sure that they would have told someone at thier TV or radio station, or news paper. Sure, SFoG wouldn't want it to get out, but they know it would get out.
And like Peabody said, why are some of you saying that they are covering it up, and you can't see pictures because all the stuff is gone or covered? And then people are telling us to goto SFoG to see for ourself. But if our cameras can't see it, how could our own eyes? It makes no sense, and things that are far-fetched AND make no sense are more than often lies, or rumors that are out of control!
Oh, one last thing Chris7714, if these people have had the time to go by the park and see it, why have they not had the time to take pictures? It takes 10 seconds to take 3 pictures, or are these people unable to operate point-and-shoots, so they have to set up a photo studio on-site? That is the only explanation I have for you saying people havn't had time to get pictures.
And anyway, it is a prototype. Things like this can happen with prototypes, especially with Vekoma. Face it they aren't the best coaster company. They've never even dealt with pulley lifts before this. Maybe they should have tried it out at Vekoma before building 3 at theme parks.

Hey, I haven't had the time to go. I can't help it if the idiots that have gone don't take pictures. But I have spent 30 min before standing under this very Deja-Vu last weekend. You could tell something like this would happen after all the slow work and things added that were never showed or intended in the original model.

And another thing. When it was testing last week, there were still lime green pieces of the ride sitting on the ground. Why test it when you haven't put everything together. It's not us that doesn't make sense, it's the stupid people working on it that do not make sense. Don't say I have extended an outlandish rumor because you've never even seen this Deja-Vu with your own eyes, have you?

I don't even know these other people who started this "rumor". Why would I want you to believe an outlandish rumor. I don't even want to believe it, but I know its true. I know the Six Flags personnel, and know them well. They tell the truth. Many of the people you talk to and cut down are people who work there. I can see why you don't want to believe it, but this is not just a stupid rumor. I wouldn't even believe the Magnum rumor about it sinking. But this is in my backyard for once. I go to Six Flags Over Georgia so much I might as well live there. I just haven't had the time in the last week to ride 30 miles to Six Flags to get you some stupid pictures of a badly designed prototype.

And another thing, these media people in atlanta aren't computer junkies who report on crashes of prototype rollercoasters. It doesn't affect the lives of the people. There are too many other major stories to report to the people that are more important than a malfunction on a prototype coaster. If they would report this story then why not report every time the Monster Plantation dark ride malfunctions or when the Wheelie ride makes an unusual noise. YOU MAKE NO SENSE. Think about what you post before you post it.
