CoasterBuzz Podcast launches with first episode

CoasterBuzz is proud to post its first audio program, CoasterBuzz Podcast. This weekly show reviews the big news stories of the previous week and will generally include a special guest.

In the debut of CoasterBuzz.com's audio news show, we welcome as our special guest Paula Werne, the marketing director for Holiday World and Splashin' Safari. The panel takes on the following stories:

  • Dan Snyder versus Six Flags: Is he the right guy for the job?
  • Scooby Doo costumed character assaulted at Universal Studios Florida.
  • Paramount's Carowinds announces Boomerang Bay, water parks are great for parks.
  • Paramount's Kings Island announces Nickelodeon Universe.
  • National Geographic TV crew stops by Holiday World.
  • Construction of The Voyage continues at Holiday World, as well as the development of the park's new dark ride and new Thanksgiving themed area.

Maybe it's just me but I think it would be so much different talking in a Podcast than talking in the forums.

In the forums, I included, like to argue with other people about topics. Even Jeff likes to 'harass' the new folk and make funny sarcastic comments. It's just the way it is here and that's fine, but it's so much different when talking on the Podcast. Jeff isn't sarcastic at all, theres no fighting, no arguing, and everyone has different opinions but theres no debates.

Your online personality would be the perfect counter-balance to Rush Limbaugh!

I don't know about anyone else, but I was extremely disappointed by the lack of left-wing propaganda this site is so well known for.

Yes, it was a joke. I hoped the quote from Mr. Smith gave it context, but I guess I lost it when I edited.

Well, the issue there was that Jeff wouldn't allow me to be me. ;)

I do bring the fear of God out of people. It's all the foul language and alcohol references. ;)

In all seriousness, we wanted to do our best for our first time out, and making fart jokes (even though I tried) wouldn't really be appropo.

nesdude...Paula scared the crap outta you...I had the cat curled up in my lap. Claws and antiseptic...ouch!

Jeff and crew... enjoyed the first podcast. It was done well, hope that you will keep up the discussion. Nice to put a voice with a screen name.

Great show! Cant wait for next weeks'!

I just want to point out that I never said anything about 'inappropriate laughing', I just said Jeff laughed at non-funny stuff, almost like he was 'nervous' at first. I was really just being silly, guys ;).

Well, Jeff is the only one with online/radio experience. The rest of us make up for our shortcomings by being exceptionally annoying or nasal. ;)

It is true, however, that online personalities (being nasai, for example) have certain things we say, like you Clint, that lead us to believe our voices would be different, along with our posture, and hair color.

Chitown, for example, has the deepest "Barry White" voice I've ever known. :) A lot of coaster cats aren't half the geek people think we are, or I am, for that matter.

It is weird, but I feel very honored to be a part of the podcast this time, and I hope that Jeff'll ask me more in the future.

Not really ... my first career was in broadcast journalism. I did radio news for four years.
