Six Flags Over Georgia today announced Goliath. This new hypercoaster will be 200 feet tall with a 170-foot first drop and 4,480 feet of track.
Read the press release from Six Flags.
Apparently being 10 makes it okay to throw rocks at people who are moving at high speeds. If this is any indication of the Atlanta mindset, I'd expect more stuff to be thrown at the coaster than from it.
This being the second Goliath, I doubt we will see the giant themed letters at the gate. I wish B&M had more control on naming their creations. Six Flags should recognize that they don't have a great deal of skill in naming coasters, given the six different names they tend to recycle through. Starship would have been nice.*** This post was edited by rc-madness 9/1/2005 4:21:19 PM ***
Yep, I can't wait. Spring Fling will be on the 22nd, SP ERT will be sometime in April too. Only 7 months away..
By the way I have some photos from today's ceremony on my site:

There are some interesting Gasp photos too.

Now, what excuse can I make up that requires a visit Georgia...
Sincerely

Q1: Is that really what the surrounding area around that park looks like? I didn't realize it was so mountainous.
Q2: Do you think there will be any car accidents from people watching the coaster come down towards them instead of watching the road?
C1: The video is what I was hoping RCT3 would have looked like!
C2: I LOVE the fact that it passes over other rides and the fact that you can tell that you are doing it!
C3: Almost a question: I've noticed that these really tall coasters are going very fast when they get to the break runs- I kinda feel like they should make the runs longer to exhaust more speed...
