Six Flags Over Georgia today announced Goliath. This new hypercoaster will be 200 feet tall with a 170-foot first drop and 4,480 feet of track.

I think the ride looks sick, but in my own personal opinion I belive some other parks are in need of a coaster like this or just a new coaster in general rather than SFOG, but oh gee wizz stupid me I forgot its six flags. Heck even Great Escape would have been a great place for this ride.
So you really think Great Escape has the attendance and profitability to support a B&M hyper and be successfull with ROI?
^ So, is that jealousy I see sitting in :)

OK, now to answer a couple of Questions:

Q1: Is that really what the surrounding area around that park looks like? I didn't realize it was so mountainous.

Ans: Sort of, the area is quite hilly though I think it was exaggerated a bit.

Q2: Do you think there will be any car accidents from people watching the coaster come down towards them instead of watching the road?

Ans: It's a possibility, look at the problems back in the day at Six Flags Over Texas.

Six Flags Over Georgia has not added a new adult sized roller coaster since 2002 with the addition of Superman Ultimate Flight. Sure, Wil E. Coyote's Canyon Blaster was added, but if you ask me, the park is due for a ride of this magnitude.

I see nothing wrong with the choice SF made in this decision. If anything, this may take SFoG's seasonal attendance to that next level. However, we shall see.

SFOG is one of the chain's most attended and profitable parks. Since it has gone four years without any major new ride installations, I think this is overdue. And why the complaining about the stats? It's small but not THAT small! Besides, many of SFOG's smaller coasters are better than their larger counterparts at other parks- give me Scorcher over Mantis any day!
I see a possible new contender for my steel top 10! It looks great...even better than I'd imagined.
Did anyone hear the guy on the video at the end of the ride say, "Oh my God! That's F*****g nice!"? :)

Looks nice. Even though I live in PA, I may have the chance to visit the park next year.

'Nitro' + 'Silverstar' + insane airtime = Goliath! Are you taking notes Intamin?
This looks to be one awesome coaster. B&M is my favorite hyper I'm glad there is another popping up, nothing like the freedom and comfort of those fine B&M seats.
Coaster looks killer...can't wait to ride this one!!!!!! :)

Eh gad, I hope this isn't a Keith McVeen rendering.. :-/ It's not up to his standards, or his former ones... and the ground is just... flat..., and he just textured the ground, no real modeling of it... shame, shaaaame. The animation looks good tho... But the coaster... looks sweet.. alittle akward placing tho.

Because at the ripe old age, you're a real expert. That's why Keith gets paid to do it and you don't.
This is great news. I will be going to Atl. next summer so I will definetly be making a trip to SFOG. B&M is just doing a knock out job for 2006!(By the way I'm new here and I am a big fan of the site and its members. Glad to to be here)
