Top ten most expensive rollercoasters ever

The reason why I'm interested is because I want to see what is the highest price parks are prepared to pay for a coaster. See, Disney & Universal have always niggled me with the fact that they spent about $100 million each on Indiana Jones & Spiderman. Still, which would you prefer, a gigantic coaster or 10 assorted regular coasters?

Incredible Hulk was very expensive as well. The exact numbers I'm not sure about. I do know that the lift hill was throught the roof.

oblivion was 12 million and considering it's size and track length, that's damned expensive!!!

Steal Phantom was 4.5 million I am not sure about it counter part though. The log jammer was multi million dolor ride as well. That expensive for a non coaster.

Believe it or not, I think #3 is Ghostrider. It's not big, but it used 3 times as much wood as normal because of earthquakes. Before SOB was built I read a comparison of board feet of lumber used for woodies and Ghostrider had like twice as much any other woodie. Even a TON more than Mean Streak, Texas Giant, or whatever. I forget what the price was exactly, but I read in multiple sources that it was over $20 million when it was all said and done. (I'll have to dig out my old Amuesment Today to get an exact number.) Until I saw that massive structure with my own eyes, I couldn't believe it!

The Disney coasters, especially Big Thunder Mountain, were quite expensive. I think the original one was $60 or $80 million. Of course, most of that was for audio-animatronics, themeing, a big fake mountain, etc.

Specifically, I don't know. But it seems like most B&M's are now costing 15-18 million.

Well I heard that Superman TE was 25 million dollars to start with but after all the problems it was said that it costed over 50 million to get it right.

SOB was 18 million. How much was the Ultimate in England?

Alpie was 20 mil or something.

rob4420, nope. Official stats say Superman COST $20 mil. (If I remember it was originally going to be around 12 or 15, before all the problems) Still a lot, but a far cry from 50.

PKI advertised that the improvements in 1999 and 2000 cost $40 million. So SOB, Face-Off, Drop Zone and miscellaneous cost $40 million.

Probably right, that kind of stuff is usally included. (I'm sure MF's "cost" included moving the Railroad, relocating the Wheel, etc.)

I cant believe No One has mentioned Duelling Dragons, I heard this cost IOA an absolute fortune(something like exceeding 50 million dollars)

No, Mill Force cost 25. Total park investments that year (moving things including Giant Wheel, etc) was 50 mill. Millennium Force cost 25 of that.
