How good of a ride is Montu ?
I rode montu in 98' and I absolutely loved it! I especially likt the tunnel after the first loop I thought I was going to get my arm chopped off if i let it hang out to the side! :) I give it a 10. It's my favorite invert but I've only ridden Top Gun at PGA and BTR.

Its been castrated by the trims. It used to be a brilliant ride. The only inverts i like better are Fire Dragon, Volcano, and Alpie so obviously, i still like it a lot.
And whoever said that alpie looks like a larger version of Raptor......the rides are not even close to eachother. But i will let the rides speak for themselves once you ride alpie. TRUST ME. they are VERY different. ;)

''Maintenance has no control over how the trims are set on Montu. All trimming is controlled by
the control system and is fully dependent on the speed of the train. However, maintenance can change the wheels which also does affect the speed of the train.''
There ya have it. Trims CONTROL the ride's speed and keep it running the way it's SUPPOSED to. Not
faster or slower. The same. Get over it and quit whinin'.

The fact that you (a moderator) use terms like retarded is disgusting. I rode Montu for the first time in October 2000, and it I thought it was slow. My opinion, and several others - SO COPE!

Wow,this thread is just loaded with heavy testosterone so,i am going to throw in my estrogen based two cents.;) For starters,How many of you who haven't ridden something and visit a new park for the first time are going to pass up any coaster because someone said it wasn't good??I personally will try every single coaster whether i've seen bad reviews or not.I am planning my first trip to Cedar point this year and even though alot of people said the woodies there are less then wonderful,you bet your butt i'm going to ride them and see for myself anyway.My advice to you Titan Fan,see for yourself,what you feel is a 10 rate coaster may not be to someone else so,it is so obvious on this entire forum that everyone has differant things they like about coasters and,that's fine,i think it's great to hear how passionate someone is for a particular coaster but the ones who dislike them also play into my curiosity.The parks spend millions to build these things and even the worst coaster at a park still gets a line because people have to try it for themselves :)I really wish people would stop bashing each other here,Jeff works really hard on this sight for us all and i'm sure he is tired of threads like this.

I don't really know what there is to explain. Virtually every facet of roller coasters hinges on perceived danger, adrenaline, etc.....
why else would we ride coasters? the whole point is the thrill, the rush, and that is purely psychological.
