How good of a ride is Montu ?

I've never been on Montu, so what is it like ?
is it fast ? ona scale from 1 to 10 whatdo you rate it ?
I would say a 8 or 9
I give it a 9.5! It is my fav. invert and I have been on Raptor, Alpengeist, & Dueling Dragons :)
Yes, it is fast and fun. 10+

A superb ride, better than Raptor in my opinion, and very close to Dueling Dragons. Supremely smooth and fast paced, and don't forget to watch for the gators!

As many of you probably know, I am not a huge fan of Montu, because the layout is too spread out and I don't get "thrown-around" a lot in the trains. Overall, I would give it a 3-4.5.
Next to Dueling Dragons, Montu is my favourite Inverted. A must-ride in my book.

NB: I havent been on Alpengeist or Raptor but plan to next year! But according to review Ive read - Fire is like a grown-up Raptor and Ice is like a grown-up Batman. I rate Montu alongside these two and must be one of the top 5 inverted in the World.

If Lifes a Rollercoaster, I want a Flawless

best invert i would say. Its everything Raptor at Cedar point should've been IMO

PCW needs something taller than a boomerang
One of the best inverteds. My only complaint is the rather bare setting.
watch for the gators!
It used to be amazing, but unfortunately, has recently had the life sucked out of it by trim brakes, and turned up midcourse's. Montu - RIP

10+ this is the best of the inverts. I have been on most of them. It is so fast! and you fly through the tunnels and ditches!! I drool thinking about how many times i walked on it. Trust me it is one of my favs!!! At first i thought this thread was a joke. to answer the question, yes, fast, 10+, your welcome

It's good like all other B&M's but not better then Alpengeist which is the best inverts
Montu is my favorite out of the inverts I've been one (All the american B&M inverts except Talon, and one or 2 Batman clones).

I have to say I was disappointed with Montu! It was too slow and had too many trims. I'd give it a 7. I wasn't over impressed with Raptor either.

1. Batman
2. Nemesis
3. Dueling Dragons (Fire)

As you can see, I like them fast and intense.

Riding Alpengeist and Talon in a in June.

May/June 2001 - 16 parks in 18 days!!!
Have ridden, B:TR (SFGAm & SFStL), Raptor, Fire, Ice, Top Gun (Carowinds), and Montu. Montu is head and shoulders above the rest. TG is cool too, it's like a little Montu (same inversion sequence). Montu was so mean and intense in the 1st half that I actually *needed* the midcourse just to catch my breath. The Immelman and the batwing are just fantastic. On an overall coaster scale, it gets a little less than 7, but amoung inverts only, I give it a 10, a ten, a freaking TEN!
lata,
jeremy
--who will one day (soon maybe?) ride Alpengeist, but doesnt hold much hope for it as it just looks like a super-sized raptor (blech!)

As cool as they were, for some reason the gators have been removed and the pit has been filled in with gravel!(not sure if it is temporary) You can see a picture of it on my website.

where did they add trims on Montu?

when did they add these?
when i was there in 97 montu kicked.

It was after that. I think they added one right before the batwing...that's not the biggest problem though....it's the midcourse brakes that are the problem, they're WAYYY too strong. Now during the second half, you "kinda" eventually get through the end, and "kinda" get through the corkscrews. It's not the Montu it used to be, at least not when I was there in spring of 2000

Ugh... I hate it when people start talking about trims. If you haven't read John Wardley's comments about them, please do so.
