Hersheypark today announced the 2004 addition of an Intamin hydraulic launch coaster. The ride will send riders from 0 to 72 mph in about two seconds. The ride will stand 150 feet tall and feature a 180-foot drop. It will also have a 135-foot "cobra loop" and barrel rolls. It has not yet been named, but the public can vote to choose a name.
Go to the official Hersheypark site or read the press release.

I have yet to see a sig. that actually follows the rule: tell something about yourself. In fact, this one doesn't even do that.

Of the three I-rockets thus far this one interests me the most and really shows the potential for the genre. My only complaint, and it's very small one, is the color scheme. Something a bit more "western" looking [brown & burgundy, perhaps?] would have been my choice, but I'm just being pedantic.
Way to go, Hershey! I bet CF and Dorney park just let out a huge "D'oh!" today ;)

A random Mooshter's Dawntionary entry: Karmageddon [n.] it's, like, when everyone is sending really bad vibes and then, like, the earth explodes...a serious bummer.

I agree with Moosh... definetly could have done a better job with color scheme. Bright red does not scream Western to me, unless you wanna say its blood covered, but that would be more halloween-ish.

My guess is that it will have an exact copy of Xcelerator's launch mechanism, just set at a lower speed. Xcelerator is now very reliable and I'm sure Heshery's will be the same. Will Heshey's have ZERO problems and ZERO downtime? No, of course not, but my guess is far less than TTD.
