I love the umbrella like support structure on the left of the bottom photo.

Gives it a neat look..

Maybe they could cover it up with a huge awning of some sort and add to the theme. Then they could do that at PKI as well since they are the same rides, or not.

Was anything removed to put this in? When I was there last year, the kiddie section looked pretty tight on room.

I was under the impression that this would be identical to the one at PKI....the stats are certainly very close...7' in track length, 1 mph, etc. But this one sure LOOKS different, more than just the *umbrella*. Seems weird to be getting one at WA, which is also just a bit different. These are great family rides.....the *perfect* complement to a junior woodie...;)

As Tim said, the lazer quest and arcade building was removed (hence why the prices were so insanely cheap on laser tag all year :)), and the Old World Marketplace area is being transformed into Nick Central. It looks like these photos were taken from Smurf Island. That area is well due for a rehab, and it should be nice. The flume will get the Wild Thornberrys treatment, and the Gauntlet (non-inverting falling star) will be themed and named "Rocket Power Air Time." Definitely an interesting name...

Intamin Fan - They're creating an entirely new section, you see. They're leaving animation station alone, their current kiddie area. This year, they're adding Nick Central - a new kiddie section! Kiddies galore...

Kiddie sections are very nice, especially at the Paramount parks. What park other than PKI has 4 kiddie coasters? Some parks don't have that many "adult" coasters... Plus, with so much for the kids to do, it keeps them out of the way on the midways.

If you count the helicopter PKI has 5. Anyway great addition IMO. I wish CP would have went this rout as opposed to the sitdown version.

"Helicopter crap"? I do hope you're not referring to the pint-sized version of HSTC that *is* Topcat's Taxi Jam...ROFL. (I'm so old I remember Topcat on its original run). The list of coasters I have gotten to ride through some method of *temporary adoption* (the preferred term BTW, and *always* with parental permission mind you) also includes Spacely's Sprocket Rockets - giving me a *clean sweep* at SFGAm, and recently Pteranodon Flyers. PF could have been better if not for ALL the braking, but for more, you're gonna have to read the TR.... In a strange twist of policy, PKD *does* allow adults to ride without kids on their Taxi Jam.

edit: Also, Reptar is a darn fine character in his own right....although Phil and Lil could have made a fine dueling kiddie coaster...;)

Personally, my feeling is if I can ride it, I will. Also, parks should allow adults to ride these coasters when there are no kids waiting or wanting to ride...(DON'T strain the lift motor on my account...they're really there FOR the kids). But I want to have *experienced* the ride so I can relate it to others (who might have kids, or just *be* kids). I also think the *youngster* in me is able to really ENJOY the ride for the thrill that it IS, unencumbered by the adult's notion of the thrill that it ISN'T....

I think the Carowinds version is almost identical. The layout looks to be the same. Perhaps we aren't used to seeing it from this angle or something?

LoL have a Coastercon at PKI, fill that train up with some ACER's, and you'll have one damn broken chain lift atfer 10 minutes, I'll bet.
