Teen trapeze artist hospitalized after falling at Six Flags Great America

What the hell is going on? This really doesn't seem to be Six Flags's week. Hopefully these are the only problems we will hear about this summer.

It is number 4, but never the less, this week has been horrible for SF. Hopefully there won't be any more injuries.

I am thinking the next park to be hit is either SFMM or SFGrAvd. Lets see, a worker fell from the X-Flight platform at SFWoA, a metally-challenged man died at SFEG, an employee was killed by passing coaster train in restricted area at SFoG, and now this?

If it were not for the two deaths earlier this week, the two injuries would have never been released nationally, or given all that much attention to. Six Flags is not hexed, just under the watchful eye of the media with a "hot story" to beat to the ground.

Remember shark attacks last year? Big story even though the number of shark attacks decreased from the previous year.

Actually roadkill, this injury at SFGAm would have been reported even if the other incidents never occured because this is from a local Chicago area paper.

Is this some kind of broken record. I never seen more deaths/injurys in one week in parks, especially for just one chain.

Six Flags neglect in the past is catching up with them, although, yes, granted some of these accidents havn't been their fault.

Uh oh, six flags may have seen one to many black cats or broke a few mirrors. This is starting to get a little startling. Personally i think when a park chain starts to have many people being killed or injured they need to stop and think a minute

Of course "the guy", you're absolutely right, everyone should just stop going to SF parks and all head on up to CP now. Judging by several comments you've left in several areas on this site, you quite possibly have the crappiest attitude of anyone on this message board I swear. Just another remark to start a CP/SF war over.

here's my prediction: somebody undoes their seat belt on whizzer at SFGAm and they die...next SF deems the ride unsafe so they tear it down...and BOOM!...you got yourself a shiny new blue 4d name z-force...

I would perfer that no one dies on Whizzer and that the ride stays!!! That is perferred to the option above!!!!

Accidents can and will happen where they want to. All we can do is try to prevent them, and it is completely coincidence that SF is the host of the latest onslaught of tragedies. I am glad she is OK. This should not keep anyone from going to the park of their choice.

Model coasters and rides

The Guy, just what do expect me to do when I live in Colorado and don't have access to CP, not go to any amusement park at all, hell no!!! And I can't think of any accident of the top of my head but I am sure CP doesn't have a perfect record either...

Either way, amusement park accidents will happen, this is still early season and we already have this many. They will continue to happen, and they will never stop. This has not just hurt Six Flags, but the intire industry itself. Whenever there is a death at a park, the story gets changed everytime it is told. The accident at SFOG will turn into the 14 year old girl hitting her leg on a support and died. The accident at SFEG will turn into the restraint breaking and the man flying 200 ft to his death. There are so many different versions of amusement park stories, and the fact that there was a death will detour guests from riding at all. A accident hurts the intire industry.

anyone want to bring any CP accidents to life? I can't recall any since I've been following the park (15 years)

Hey, Im not bagging on CP, I have never been but it sure looks like a great park. But I believe it has been open since 1870, now any park that has been open that long and has no deaths/accidents is amazing. And now that I think of it, a cable snapped on MF, I consider that a accident. Although no body got hurt, it could have been worse. No park is 100% perfect.

Why are we all talking about CP suddenly? And the cable on MF wasn't an accident, it was an incident.

I'm just glad the girl wasn't seriously hurt. There have been enough SF falls and kicks the past few days. Hopefully no more happen for the next 10 years.
