Umm, out of curiosity, why is this so newsworthy? PKD and SFA have gone "tete-a-tete" with Gospel events several times this summer. Same message (though IMO better music).

Universal's will be better as they feature dc talk, who still rule the scene, in my opinion.

Christian music...or an religious music really scares me. If I go to the park, I don't want to hear about how I'm going to hell if I don't spend every waking minute prasing the lord. They should really just keep this kind of stuff in churches, for those who don't believe in religion.

I'm going to Universal's event (Rock the Universe) instead of Disney...I know this is about the competition, but they would both make more money if they were on different weekends. I'm going to Universal's simply because of the artists there, compared to the ones at Disney. I definately agree 'Compressed Airhead'..coasters + Christian music = a GREAT weekend. (Even better if Third Day was gonna be there)

'Impulse'... I don't want to sound negative towards you, but its not like they plug the Christian music through the entire park. The concerts are on stages. If you don't want to hear it, don't go to the stage. The concerts are late at night too (starting around 7:00 to midnight). :)

Man, I wish SFSTL had a Christian Music Festival! I LOVE Christian Music! Christian Music has Great music, and it doesn't have the stupid lyrics that alot of mainstream music has! But, I am really glad that SFSTL has alot of Christian Concerts! The Newsboys are going to be there tomorrow night!

Impulse, I agree with DiscoPapa, if you don't want to here the music, then don't go to the stage! Christian Music scares you? Alot of Mainstream music scares me! I wish Amusements Parks wouldn't have artists that promote a bad message! I think the groups that use bad language and stuff have no place in Family Parks! They have no place anywhere! lol Just my opinion...

Well hey, if hearing songs about love and God's grace makes you feel good, why shouldn't it be at a park? Guests don't want to hear depressing songs about suicide and life in the hood, even if it is popular.

I wish SFEG would get something like that. We did get one artist Crystal Lewis at the start of the summer and she was good. But DC TALK or NEWSBOYS or JARS OF CLAY would ROCK

Impulse, do you even know what Christian Music sounds like? Making statements like that is just a slap in the face to people who enjoy the music. Now, listen to this: I GUARENTEE that I can match any secular artist to a Christian artist that sounds the same, just with decent lyrics. Besides, if you are so absolutely sure there is no God, then why does hearing other people's ideas bother you so much?

Just because I believe there's no god, doesn't mean I don't believe there's a higher power watching over. I believe that organized religion is just a way of scaring people into being decent citizens. If you're going to be a good person, be a good person because you want to be good, not because of some scare tactics bull you hear in church.

So that's why all churches say that faith, not works is how you get to heaven? Nice try, but your "scare tactics" deal just doesn't hold up. Back to the subject, Christian music doesn't always mean religious music. Here's some sample lyrics from a Christian Band (called Furthermore) who are just having some fun:

"Fluorescent a jelly fischer style, easy to move when boneless inside, ethereal surreal feel the tide, tied to the board and waving good bye on a wave ride, take it in stride, crumble to the sky, so I can catch my breath breathe, before going in depth, please, enough with this weird."

If that's too preachy for you, ummm.
