Six Flags Great America releases info on new Super Invertigo and Impulse

I got my season pass mailer today. It describes the new coasters, for those who don't already know, as an Intamin Impulse and a Vekoma Super Invertigo. The Super Invertigo will be named Deja Vu and painted green with blue supports. The Impulse will be named Vertical Velocity and painted yellow with blue supports. Also, Great America has updated their operating calendar online.

Personally I was shocked to see that the SFMW and SFGA impulses werent named Superman: Ultimate Escape.

I don't really see the point in really caring about the name, it's the coaster that counts.
Would you rather get a Road Runner Express with a good name and theme, or a B&M floor-less coaster with a cloned name and theme?
I dunno about you, but I would want the B&M floor-less.

I don't really see the point in really caring about the name, it's the coaster that counts.
Would you rather get a Road Runner Express with a good name and theme, or a B&M floor-less coaster with a cloned name and theme?
I dunno about you, but I would want the B&M floor-less.

ok, what is the point of getting these two coasters at this park??? Let's see. First off there will now be three coasters in which you sit under the track. (dejavu, v2 and batman). Secondly, dejavu and v2 both go vertical and both go forwards and backwards and both are almost the same height. How stupid! Maybe six flags should share the wealth with some of their other parks. (sfkk, sfeg, sfdl, sfne) Oh well, i bet next year will be huge for sfdl and possibly sfne at least. Oh and also i see a trend.
Boomerang/dejavu trend-
the parks that haul in more money get dejavu and the parks that haul in less get a standard boomerang or invertigo.
SLC/Batman the ride trend-
the parks that haul in more money get batman and the parks that haul in less get the slc.
X/Flying dutchman trend-
I can almost garuntee that the parks that haul in more money (maybe excluding sfwoa) will get x and the parks that haul in less will get the flying dutchman. Pretictable, and likely for sf.

Personally, I fail to see the logic of the two new coasters. Déjà Vu is going to be incredibly low capacity, so is V². The park already has an inverted coaster, so why install two more? Why not a sit-down super boomerang? Whatever their logic, it's still two new coasters, and any new coasters are great (well, excluding Vekoma SLCs).
I still haven't recieved anything in the mail, but my mail system is horrable so I'll be patient for the next few weeks.
amusement park fanatic- The reason SFGAm choose these new coasters is because SFGAm doesn't have any type of shuttle coasters. Well, not at present time. For the park, I think it is great. SFGAm has a variety of different types of coasters. And I like that very much. So what I'm trying to say is that a LIM and SuperInvertigo will not hurt the park, it is helping it very much. I'm as happy as can be.

SFGAm has a variety of different types of coasters. And I like that very much. So what I'm trying to say is that a LIM and SuperInvertigo will not hurt the park, it is helping it very much. I say clone the coaster, clone the name - Different coaster, different names. It would be much better having Superman: Ultimate Escape(s) at three parks than having Supermans at every park that are radically different from one another. That just gets confusing.
I understand that shuttle coasters are cheaper, and I've not ridden an Impulse or a Deja Vu (obviously), but I'm starting to think of these things more in the line of flat rides than coasters. Don't get me wrong - this is not an invitation for an "Is it a coaster" debate. I like lift hills, I like complete circuits, and I like rides with high capacity.

While not as good as a 3-train B&M, the addition of these two coasters ups the parks coaster capacity by at least 1,500pph. I'll take it!
