Paramount's Great America announces new attractions for 2001

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the park will debut "more than 15 new thrills and adventures." Chief among these is the park's 10th coaster, the Arrow designed Psycho Mouse.
Other new attractions include:
- Celebration Swings, a Zierer wave swinger
- Thunder Raceway, a separate-fee go-kart track
- 7th Portal, a new film for the 3-D simulator
- Smash Factory, which sounds like bumper cars
- Race the Wind, an IMAX film
- several new shows

Wrong! Arrow makes better and more "perminant" looking mouse rides than Mack. The one at MA is great! This one at PGA looks even bigger and better than the rest as well. Get the facts, dude.
Did anyone else notice the $42.99 one day admission? That's even more than the most expensive Six Flags! (SFMM $40.99) Ouch!

Soggy, how is he wrong? His opinion was Arrow mice were slower and stupider than Mack, and that it's basically a version of the Mack one, which it is. Just because Arrow makes a more permanent looking mouse means it's better? Ha, you obviously have not been on Hershey's mouse...Ride that one and tell me if you care if Arrow ever makes another mouse again.

I've got to agree with Legendary here. Hershey's Wild Mouse is the best I've been on. On the other hand, Arrow mice aren't bad either.

Well, how is a ride with the same speed and the same layout (basicly) considered slower and stupider? How are Arrows "stupider," Legendary? I HAVE been on DCA's Mack mouse, Mulholland Madness. I see no difference between Arrow and Mack with the exception of the supports, with Arrow's looking better.
Actually, the best mouse I have been on was a traveling one ot the fair. It had 2 seater cars, not 4. The Fair company was RCS, I do not know the maker of that one.

That's great that you've been on DCA's Mouse, but from all accounts, it's not Hershey's. Hershey's doesn't (at least when I've been there) trim you AT ALL, and that thing flies. I've read that DCA's trims a bit. I'll refrain from commenting on that one until I ride it though, which will be March 29.
The most noticable differences between the two (Arrow and Mack) is that Arrow's seem to lose and INCREDIBLE amount of speed due to severe friction loss. At Valleyfair! on their Arrow, we didn't get trimmed at all on the top portion of turns...because we didn't need it! That damn thing just would NOT pick up speed at all. MA's is a little better, but they did trim the top turns, resulting in a less than stellar ride. Hershey's simply lets its mouse run wild, no trims anywhere. That's the difference.
And I do like both mice, just Mack's are so much better.

Hey Soggy- perhaps you should visit SFGadv (SFNJ) before you claim that PGA is higher than any other one day ticket. As you said to Britneyguy "Get the facts dude" SFGadv's daily price (not including the safari) & season pass prices have ALWAYS been the highest of any SF park. I guess it comes w/living in this part of the country.

I agree, Macks are better. But keep in mind that it has NOTHING to do with PGA's new mouse. It looks slightly more tweaked than other Arrow mice. This one might just blow people away. MM at DCA really surprised me, it felt totally out of control in spots, but it certainly isn't a eye pleasing as the Arrow mice are.

OK, VOLLEYGUY, how much is the one day admission to SFGadv? The website does not say, so how could I compare? All I was doing was mentioning that this was a high price for a one day admission, why am I getting attacked?

BTW, this is a coaster forum, where we dicuss all aspects of rides, coasters, parks, etc. Why are you taking my disagreement with you so personal? All I see this as is a discussion about two types of Wild Mouse manufacturers, not trying to solve world hunger. This stuff is for fun, please don't get bent out of shape over it. I will continue to post my feelings on any matter I see fit, and I hope you will do the same. Just because I disagree doesn't mean you need to get heated.

On another note, does anyone know where I could find a picture of the supposed different layout of Psycho Mouse? I saw one but can't remember where.
About most expensive SF parks...SFGAm was $42.99 this year, totalling out at around $44.28 (or something) with tax. I know SFGAd was higher, around the $45 range.

I believe you can still see it at Screamscape. It looks at one point to run through trees. Nice effect.

Honestly, I thought more people considered a park was "going cheap" when they chose Mack's mouse compared to Arrow's. (I remember this in reguards to Disney's purchase of the Mack for DCA, I will look for the thread) If the Mack's give a better ride, great! But I would not consider Arrow's to be "stupid," "lower" or "slow."

Smash Factory is a simulator ride. Its nothing new, in fact a mall by my house used to show it in one of their simulators. Its a cool little ride but nothig to get excited over. I was hoping PGA would add a little more "ommph" to their 2001 catalouge buyt hey at least we get a new coaster. 2002 is said to bring a clone of Son of Beast which should be sweet. I also here that a flying super saturator may go in as well.
