I side with the park in the case where the guy got out of line and back in. Once you start making exceptions, you have to do so for everyone.

However, I feel for the guy who bought a drink and was trying to catch back up to his group. I don't know why everyone behind him is in such a hurry in the first place, your just going to have to wait when their done anyway! Its hysterical sometimes, I will try to wait for people to buy their drinks and the people behind me usually put so much pressure on you to go around the guy. Just wait! The line is just as long if you go around!

Since line jumping is universally considered a problem and a pet peeve of many enthusiasts

Not picking on your syntax here (i.e. how something can be "universal" of "many") but I'd just like to say...eh, not really.

Universal, referring to location, i.e., not an isolated phenomenon. Many, referring to number.

Here's an idea. Back in Jr. High, we had to line up on numbers for PE. Do the same thing for rides. Have large people parking lots. Then they wouldn't have to pay for someone to hand out tickets...they'd only have to hand pay for the extra real estate. Wouldn't that be fun and confusing? ;)

Yah, it's a mess. Speaking of which, how about port-a-potties in line? ;)
