Kawasemi, Intamin itsybitsy-hyper at Tobu Zoo

Who came up with the idea to call it a "maga lite" hyper?
Anyway, the ride looks short but sweet and produces mighty hairtime.

Yeah, at 108ft. I'm not even sure if it is a mega coaster. Mega coaster is 120ft. 199ft. right? But still either way that coaster looks amazing. The airtime on that looks really intense, I want one. I really wish Sea World Orlando would get a slightly larger version of this instead of a boring flyer.

I'll bet it's a superior ride to Mellenium Force - proving once more... forget it :)

I don't want to talk about it. I was supposed to be in Singapore this week on business, and I was going to get a 36 hour layover in Tokyo to go ride this and spend a day at DisneySea. The trip got cancelled at the last minute... I'm more than a little bitter.

Someday, someday.

You can call it whatever you like, it's an Intamin non-inverting ride with a lifthill and lots of crunchy airtime. I call it "drool-inducing".

Cool - Intamin seems to learn with every new ride they build.
While I'm not entirely certain about whipping into this intense turnaround right after the first drop, they really went beyond themselves in terms of twisting airtime hills this time- my favourite element of theirs on many rides that were built earlier.
Hills 4-6 are probably going to feel f/&*?=§$% amazing the way they zig-zag around (somehow reminds me of skiing for some reason).
Bravo Intamin!

(About the Mega - I think the word hyper is simply out of fashion right now. ;)) *** Edited 3/8/2008 6:05:46 PM UTC by superman***

Oh man, that looks fantastic! I love the drop into the turnaround! All those airtime hills, no dead spots, no OTSR's...foreign parks have better taste in steel coasters!

That ride does look amazing. I wonder if you still get the same air with the shorter trains.

S:RoS SFA and DL both drop into 90 degree turns. I know this is closer to 215, but this can't be worse than MF's first overbank, right? ;)

Who knew the next "experience" in coasters would just be a reinvention of what they were doing 25 years ago ...

Pretty cool looking, hope they continue to build more of these. I agree that it looks like skiing ... I'd love to see that motion completely simulated on a coaster. Couldn't be real exaggerated, but just a subtle "edge-to-edge" twisting on the way down a hill would be a pretty cool feeling IMHO.

Very nice.

Wasn't it told way back when that the steel speed coaster was to mimic the wooden coaster with just drops, turns, bunnyhills, etc?

Well, here you have it, they did all that like with the other speed coasters and even put the lifthill at what alot of wooden coaster lifthill heights are.

Now THERE'S some steel that I could love. The slalom air hills look neat-O.

On RCDB, the pricetag was listed at 14.6 million. The price of steel must be pretty high. How much was MF? 25 million for something four times as tall and well over twice as long (6595' vs 2454').

Some things contributing to the pricetag: On water, in Japan (earthquake-proofing), time value of money, currency exchange rates. It's easy to *try* and compare apples to apples, but there are alot of variables to consider.

MF was $25 million. I heard it said somewhere (probably here) that today's price would be twice that.

My god, the only thing worse than wasting 25 million on the world's tallest kiddie coaster would be paying twice that!
