Steel Hawg - Trailer

Indiana Beach has just posted a teaser trailer for their new custom steel coaster "Steel Hawg." Looks like some elements I have never seen before. Could be a fun ride. It will be short, so if its horrible at least it won't be a long bad experience.

Looks to me like it may be a painful ride.
There are definitely some element's that I have never seen before... except for when I was trying to figure out how to design coasters in No Limits.
Hopefully I'm wrong. But either way... If the ride turns out to be a horrible experience, or an amazing one...I'm excited that I have an excuse to get back to IB so I can ride Cornball Express some more!

Someone has been playing with the coat hangers at S&S.

Looks kinda cool...incredibly unique at the very least. I'm curious to see how those outwardly-banked turns feel.

I can't help but wonder (assuming this video is accurate) WHY wouldn't S&S take the time to design around the heartline? Have they learned nothing from the bankrupt company they purchased?

Chuck, who thinks its the future of looping coasters except for some very well off parks. A decent sized Beemer or intamin is gonna run well over 20 million in these times of Weak dollar and high steel prices.

Looks like an intense little bugger to me. It appears S&S is now into making K-Nex coasters! LOL! The most recent K-Nex coaster looks a lot like this model especially with the outer banked turns.

We'll see when we visit IB this year for the first time.

Looking forward to trying Cornball and Hurricane. And I hear that Galaxy is a great little coaster as well. ;)

If you have never been to IB Lisa, you are in for a treat.

The whole boardwalk atmosphere along with decent coasters, flats, live entertainment, etc. just makes this place a special spot in the middle of Indiana.

Three "Do Not Miss" attractions at Indiana Beach:

1. Frankenstein's Castle. Yes, it costs a few dollars extra but this L-O-N-G walk-thru is well worth the money. And when you get to the balcony near the end make sure you walk out to the end and look up to the ceiling or you'll miss the best effect, one many people miss. Guests enter in groups so if you're not first be sure to walk slowly at and put some distance between you and the person in front of you so as none of the gags are spoiled.

2. Fascination. Be sure to put aside $20 to drop on Fascination. As if the game wasn't addicting enough the hilarious women who run it (and have "we've-been-smoking-for-50-years" voices) make sitting in the airconditioned parlor and dropping even more fun.

3. The Worlds Best Tacos. Would you pass them up?

World's best tacos? Not even near the radar of great tacos although they are decent for tacos at a park.

I think this looks like a cool ride. I would take this sucker over a one-trick dive coaster any day.

Oh, I totally agree. I mentioned them as a joke. I just think it's funny that they're advertised as "worlds best." ;)

If you have some spare time at IB and DON'T eat at the Skyroom.....well, then you failed to heed this advice. ;)

Never eaten at the skyroom but about every place else in the park. Theres nothing bad and most of it is far above average for park food. From the Pizza to the Waffle Cone's

YUMMY, Bout the only thing Id change about IB is the restrooms. Some modernazation is needed but I'll be there in August!

So nice to see a new coaster in my back yard. Been fortunate over the years with voyage, kentucky rumbler and now this. Rough or not it does look awesome.

Now my next wish is Holiday World bring me something steel I'll be happy. Dream for that day soon. Beyond that I'll be at IB on opening day.

^^I've continued to say HW needs a Euro-fighter like Speed/Mystery Mine or an Intamin like Fahrenheit...it would be economical while still providing top-rate steel thrills and would blend in nicely among the wood coasters and still modestly fit in with the park's trademark charm. Of course, a Mack spinner would be logical, but those are/will be everywhere now and I would like to see something bigger to take HW to the next big level…the only issue might be capacity, but I still think something could be engineered to hit 1,000 + pph with the right trains.
