A Rollercoaster Concept You Dream Of

A seat mounted on a post slid up and down over every hill and curve would be totally whacked IMHO They'd have to design very carefully and have great shocks at the top and bottom of the pendulum but could you imagine riding at a normal 2ft above the rails and say the seat could rise 8ft. YOu'd be flung ten feet above the track and fall as the coaster was falling.

Im thinking a simple coaster design like Magnum even.

Chuck, of course you'd be decapitated at the tunnels :)

Whole new meaning to head choppers eh? ;)

OK...how about this? An indoor woodie that uses Pirates of the Caribbean type fire effects to look like you were riding a woodie that was burning down.

I don't get out as much as I'd like. ;)

Wow, these sound a lot alike. I wonder if the Dollywood maintenance folks took inspiration from Fire in the Hole?

^I won't pretend to know about the history of HFEC....but Dollywood, when I first went there (during the '82 World's Fair), *was* named Silver Dollar City then. Can't imagine that was a coincidence... ;)

How about a Super Swiss Toboggan ride!!!

Go to Dubai where they are building the world's tallest building. Run a lift hill up the center of the building and then spiral the track all the way down. Of course the bunny hills at the end are going to have to be a lot bigger with all that speed. Maybe 400 feet or so?

;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Certain victory.

^ On top of that Fire In the Hole at SDC and Blazing Fury at Dollywood are both Steel Coasters. You can tell the FITH has steel track in this picture at http://www.rcdb.com/ig1455.htm?picture=2 .

^^ But how many people would want to ride that long with their knees pressed against their noses? :)

A coaster that launches into space. :)

Either that or the Stratosphere thing that came out a few years back. :)

How about a coaster with riders facing sideways? Loops would become cartwheels, corkscrews could become backflips, and inline twists.....

...Okay, I'll stop.

^^ Good one!
I like that Idea. Maybe they could spin through the ride similar to a 4D but it would spin instead of flip. It would add a whole new aspect to the ride.

Top 5, in no particular order: 1. MF 2. Maverick, 3. Kraken 3. El Toro, 4. TTD 5. Superman Krypton Coaster Top overrated coasters: 1. Incredible Hulk (Boooooring!) 2. Nitro 3. Expedition G-force 4. Goliath(SFMM) 5. Any Dive Coaster

The older scenic railways used to have like a bench that people sit sideways. There is a picture in Scott Rutherford's book.
