Metal detectors at theme parks

I dont think they are necessary. What do they expect you to do, bring in a coaster from another park? I have yet to hear of any reports or see anything like a stabbing or a shooting. And if someonee wants to hold me up in a park, let them! Just dont let them not let me ride the rides.

SFoT has had metal detectors for as long as I can remember. I think all parks should have them, creates a much safer atmosphere.

I don't see any harm in them. They don't add much time in the entry to line to make a substantial difference, and I never set them off becuase I don't carry any metal, so they're not that annoying. And seeing that SFA is near Batimore and Washington, I'm glad that they kind of filter all the felons that might enter the park.

I think it's a great idea considering we live in a society where you can't even get an education without the fear of being shot.

I'm not that bothered by metal detectors except at opening time when you can have to wait over half an hour to get in the park unless you got there an hour before opening. There is a simple solution to this problem. Just open the metal detectors 30 minutes or so before opening time and use a rope drop inside the park at opening time.
