Disaster Transport.

I think if Disaster Transport was an all glass building that would look really cool. So while riding you get a view of everything outside. Well then I guess what's the point of having it indoors. *** Edited 10/18/2007 10:36:16 PM UTC by Parker17***

Actually, no, as the morons who built the box around the ride put vents over the trough that let water in when it rains.

Jeff, yes, that shocked me too. After a major rainstorm, I was told that we couldn't ride DT because the tubes aren't completely sealed.

J7G3, I think Blue Streak was amazing this year. I've never ridden it classic-style, but it still had plenty of airtime. And why are you blaming Great Adventure for those lapbars? Please fill me in. Is it because of the incident that happened when a ride operator stood up on Rolling Thunder and died? That happened a long time ago.

If it did lead to changes in the industry, it obviously didn't get to every park, i.e. see Phoenix at Knoebels, Thunderbolt at KW etc. Now what has changed in the last year or so, is the addition of seatbelts to just about everything at some parks. Racer and Jack Rabbit have seatbelts at KW, CF added seatbelts to all Arrow OTSR's, and even the Mack mouse at KD got seatbelts. *** Edited 10/18/2007 11:39:21 PM UTC by Intamin Fan***

Well I would def say Mean Streak and Diaster Transport are the most hated coasters at CP.

The most significant thing about my Disaster Transport experience was that the air circulation in the building was so poor, that it became Disaster Body Odor Transport. It's neat that it's in the dark, but the warehouse structure sure is big and ugly, with random tubing.

I've always liked Disaster Transport, as do most of the people around here that have been up the The Point. Some of the twisting drops are unexpected and the end is very exciting and abrupt. It may not be a scream machine, but it's fun, especially for kids who are growing up into more intense thrill rides.

Ds is critisized a lot but i enjoy it and think it is a lot of fun

I like Disaster Transport. It's not the greatest ride in the world, but it isn't the worse either.
I like that it's dark. Working Effects would be nice, though.

It's not a horrible ride. It's just a REALLY big eye sore for the park and unlike many of the coasters, I don't find that a lot of people favor it, other than maybe the air conditioning at times.

I really don't find the structure to be THAT ugly. I really like the ride. It's a nice break from all of the very intense rides. It's more fun than thrilling, imo.

They had a nice log flume, but now they have a nice coaster in it's place. The sad thing is that Disaster Transport is about the best we'll get theming wise from Cedar Fair. I agree with most when they say put the Villain, or another wooden coaster in it's place, and move the coaster inside the building to another part of the park, or to another park.

After having been at the park this past Sunday and riding DT for the first time in 8 years, the line was a major letdown for me. The sign pointed to the replacement entrance due to a haunted house at the main entrance, and it said something about DT in 3D. Well, I could see this possibility with the horrific paint colors, everything was neon, I am assuming at some point in the past they handed out glasses? Anwho, the room with the conveyor belt overhead didn't have the TV anymore and it had some big gizmo making strange noises in the middle. The repair bay looked the same except for the nasty colors. My daughter was thrilled with the ride in the dark but without theming it left me a little empty. I was never a huge DT fan but it was an entertaining ride when there was something to look at, now it seems to be really missing any character it once had.

Forget Villian, lets inventory all the steele structure parts from Villian and give that to gravity group as a start to a really good Voyage type coaster...

So, did they really try re-theming the ride? And when was it done? Maybe we will get some re-theming this off season.
